Where’s the Brawl demos?

When Super Smash Brothers Brawl for the Wii was revealed via trailer back at E3 2006, we wanted to feel the “improved” gameplay as soon as possible. Most of us knew, however, that Brawl wouldn’t be playable at E306, but expectations were high for a showing at Leipzig 06. Nothing. Fans then looked forward to the Nintendo World event where demos of the company’s latest games were to be shown. That day came and went with still no sign of a playable version of SSBB. Both GDC and E3 2007 showed no demos. Really Nintendo…where’s my Smash Brothers?
This repeating pattern struck me when I realized that we would be playing Brawl in less than three months! I don’t want to pull a Matt Casamassina, but don’t you think we should of at least seen a playable version for the public? Take a step back and look at the other two mega hit titles. We had both Metroid Prime 3 and Super Mario Galaxy demos playable at E306, Leipzig 06, Nintendo world, GDC07, E307, and Leipzig 07. I know Nintendo is known for keeping a tight lid on their projects, but has this embargo gone on for too long? Being a huge fan of the first two Smash Brothers, I want more than just daily screen shots. I want to see this title in motion.
What do you think Infendo? Is it about time we see some gameplay, or should the hype train roll on?

Mmmm….Yeah the game been in hiding longer then 1-18-08.
But if it is not playable around Nintendo’s Tokyo Game Show conference, then I might start to freak out.
For now chill..It’s Smash Bros, how can they screw THAT up?

Woo! Go hype train! Choo choo!

I’m willing to be patient for what will be an AMAZING game.

They could always give us nothing instead.
I’m pretty sure people will always want to know more about their most anticipated games. That doesn’t mean Nintendo is obligated to do anything about it. I’m grateful we’re getting anything at all, let alone daily updates about it. And I’m still sick to death of the whiny attitude that sites like Kotaku regularly demonstrate about the updates. omg, they find the updates boring… well, stop talking about them then.

Hell no. I disagree.
The daily screenshots are amazing. People must not be aware that there’s over 150 screenshots on that website.
They’ve shown so much items, weaponss, among other things, that I don’t “need” to see somebody else play it; or even myself (untill launch, that is).
With these daily updates, the wait for Brawl became so much shorter.

The adventure mode for this one looks outstanding .. did you see the Pit cutscene video? You should!

I think it’s just one giant “hype train”. From the pictures and stuff, this game looked pretty much playable months ago. It just kind of makes me mad.

D E L A Y .
Why else would there be no new video and playable demos?

I’d rather wait to play it when it’s released, than to play a demo a few months before and then be starving for more and not being able to have any.

What I’d really like to see is a demo available on the Wii shop channel, like a step further than what they did for Prime 3. While I think watching a demo being played would be interesting, it really wouldn’t do much more for me than the info trickling off the official site.

Yeah, a delay. During one of the most important holiday seasons in Nintendo’s history. That must be it!
Nintendo, like any company, is doing just enough to keep the hype going. If it wanes, which is won’t, they’ll change their strategy. Right now the mere idea of Smash Bros. is keeping the interest in this game alive. Oh, and the Dojo site.
If Nintendo constantly bowed to the will of the rabble, they’d be a failed company.

Well. there is a nintendo event tonie in japan. mabey we’ll see something there…

You guys arn’t getting my point. THERE HAS BEEN NO DEMOS FOR THIS GAME! NOT EVEN FOOTAGE OF REAL PLAY. And with 3 months to go…it’s kinda wierd.
September 5th, 2007 at 7:27 pm
Yes there has. The E3 trailer had footage of real play encompassing most of the stuff revealed on the site.
It shows the cracker launcher in action, giga bowser, Isle Delfino, Bridge of Eldin in 15 seconds of awesome.
NOT LIKE I NEED IT SINCE THE DAILY SCREENSHOTS ARE 100% COOLER.

A delay? hahaha if they are already producing industry copies don’t you think it’s because they want to increase such supply for such a demand?
Regardless, the daily screenshots/music/NEW information/Old information 100% confirmed/enhancements are WAY more satisfying.
