TGS: Muramasa: The Demon Blade Gameplay

Thursday, October 9th, 2008 at 11:08am by Jack

Another great looking, currently Japan-only Wii 2D platformer that was recently profiled in Nintendo Power (think Odin’s Sphere). Could that mean a U.S. release is imminent? Let’s hope so. Update: My apologies. This is scheduled to hit in 2009 here in the States. Now I’m extra excited, having previously not known if this was the case.

On an editorial note, I despise the double colon headline, but the nature of today’s game title/subtitle dynamic forces me to use one.

If the game is published by Atlus, you can almost guarantee a US release. Odin Sphere was beautiful and I’ve been looking forward to this game since it was first announced last year.

Reminds me somewhat of Astro Boy for GBA which I liked very much. This game looks cool but a little bit on the repetitive side though.

Marvalous is the pub for this and those guys are looking to make some real money on the Wii! They have a ton of games coming along with this gem of course.

Damn did you see the waves in action at the end!!! Wow looking good!

This is how I wanted Odin Sphere to look and play. Faster, more character animation (such sweet sweet sweeeeeeeet 2D!), no slowdown, and faster transitions between stages.

This game is a must get day one.

Here I was expecting a port to Odin Sphere but this is way better. I want!

Can’t wait for this. It’s also one of the best looking games I’ve ever seen, aesthetically speaking. I’m not exaggerating.
