Some third-party Wii ports you may or may not be interested in

Thursday, March 15th, 2007 at 11:05pm by Staff

The April issue of EGM profiles five upcoming Wii ports that are basically repurposed games with the addition of motion-controls. So which ones are worth the purchase price, even if you already own a previous version? EGM says…

  • The Godfather: Blackhand Edition - Extra gameplay worth the $50 bucks.
  • Driver: Parallel Lines - Lack of content makes this a no go.
  • Mortal Kombat Armageddon - Sold. They likie this one.
  • Scareface: The World Is Yours - Silly gestures not worth it.
  • Prince of Persia: Rival Swords - Hardly worth the added controls, unless you missed Thrones.

Anyone buying any of the above?

Godfather and MK caught my interest the minute I heard they were coming to Wii. The rest don’t really interest me regardless of whether they play well or not. Good to hear that the ones I’m interested in are worth the money.

I might rent Driver. It was a good series back on the PS1 and i’ve missed the last few.

i honestly am sorta interested in godfather. not big into sandbox games, but i want to try it out. i want to see how mortal kombat plays considering they originally didnt feel they could put the game on wii at all.

    the others, no way.

i am not too upset about ports themselves, except the one they did nearly no work to, like driver/scarface/PoP:Rival Swords,
but i am upset about the fact that they charge full price for these games that they spent less then a year, and probably only a few developers on. they should sell them for $40, then i would be forgiving. would mean faster drops to $30, and maybe a little closer to the ps2/GC MSRP for some of the title.

i just always feel disgusted by publishers not pricing games according to their expectations. its like they really expect people to just on to these games no matter what they do, just because they are the early ones out the gate when it comes to action titles on wii.

MK:A, but I do want to save money, or go with the rental path.

no way, won’t be spending my hard earned cash for any of them. there’s so many other better games to buy out there on wii, that i can spend my money on, and also some DS games. no thanks.
