Rockstar Games, a usually shunner of Nintendo hardware, announced today that Table Tennis is jetting onto Wii later this fall. As expected, the game will map motion-controls to digital ping pong paddles, hopefully in a way much more enjoyable than Nintendo’s WiiPlay table tennis game.
“By bringing Table Tennis to the Wii and utilizing the motion-sensitive Wii Remote, a new audience can now experience a game that is beautifully designed and impossible to put down,” Rockstar said in a presser. (Xbox 360 version shown). Let’s hope so.

This one should be pretty cool actually. Table Tennis has the highest production quality and best presentation of any Rockstar title. The game should end up really polished and hopefully somewhat budget priced like it was for the 360.

I see this one as a “win-win” situation. In fact, they should have put table tennis instead of court tennis in Wii Sports: the fact that you don’t move your Mii, just like in table tennis, will make it easier to adapt to the Wii…

I agree with Wii Wii. I’ve been waiting for table tennis for Wii and now it’s coming!

I thought it would be cool to make a flight sim or similar type game where your balance on the board was the pitch and roll controls of the plane. Almost like you are the stick. Whenever I play and flight type of game I usually find myself leaning in to the controls anyway.
