Pikmin 3 development confirmed

We finally have an official confirmation that the Pikmin 3 project exists, and is in development. This news comes fresh from Nintendo’s E3 2008 Developer Roundtable. Take a wild guess at who let the cat out of the bag? Yup, Miyamoto. When the man was asked about a new entry into the series he simply stated…
“We’re making Pikmin.”
That was all that was said, but I’m sure it was just enough to relieve many disappointed Nintendo fans. I know I’m happy.

Finally - I thought this was a lock of a game when the Wii was announced. I’m honestly surprised it’s taken this long to even get positive mention of it.

The pointing ability of the Wiimote and Pikmin are a natural fit. I’m looking forward to seeing what creative new steps the franchise will take on Wii.

Miyamoto always reminds me of the ol’ kindly grandfather that can’t keep a secret.
