*gasps* A $70 system beat out a $600 system? Shocker!
Is it really that much to brag about?

It’s not a beautiful thing when a competitor does poorly. I like video games, no matter who makes them or how I play them.
Do you really think it would be a better world of video games if both Sony and Microsoft failed?!
Nintendo may be cool and all that, but they’re not perfect. They may think they are, but they have much to learn from their competitors as their competitors have to learn from them.

Even though Jack is Infendo’s resident fanboy, I thought the “beautiful thing” statement was in reference to Nintendo doing sell well, which is a good thing for Nintendo enthusiasts (at the moment). Knowing Jack, I also didn’t interpret “bragging” that a 6 year old $70 system outsold a new $600 one; but it’s still shocking. There is no way Sony can spin this. They have to drop their price and fast if they wish to compete this go around. Not even games can help with that hight barrier to entry. Amazing.

Considering Sony’s rhetoric over the last year or so I’m personally glad that the ps3 got trounced.

I’m guessing that’s supposed to be February 2007…?

The DS keeps outselling all other systems, and this is even before Pokémon Diamond/Pearl comes out in the U.S.! Expect a massacre when that happens…
As for PS3 sales ending at the bottom, remember that Sony actually loses money on the selling of the system. It’s the software for it that counts for profits, and there isn’t that much out yet. With PS3 owners buying only one or two games for the system right now, Sony might be better off not selling many of them until its software line up beefs up!
No, Sony, don’t lower the price of your PS3 just yet…

Perhaps not, but how about this, though? The $600 system was beaten by every single other system currently on the market.

Are those numbers worldwide? ps3 isn’t out here in europe until the 23rd this month… so that can explain something… that the the 600$ and no GREAT games

Are these numbers something to brag about? Yes, I think they are.
Iv’e spent years standing behind the N64 and the Gamecube, overpowered by so many ridiculous Sony fans it’s not even funny. They bit, scratched, and cursed at my system for any reason they could dig up, but I was always there to stand behind it, no matter how much the PS2 (and Xbox for that matter) were selling.
Now it’s my turn. It’s now a Nintendo fanboy’s duty to hash insults at the PS3 for all it has done wrong the same way people were so cruel to the GameCube. It’s our turn to kick ass and take names, if I may quote certain presidents.
It is our turn to brag.

Well said Andrew, well said.
And the reason why one would want a system to fail, not because we may or may not hate that company but because if that company fails more developers and cheaper prices will go to the other systems. I strongly believe we need competition but Sony does not believe in competition and have said so countless times. That is why they deserve all the backlash and criticism we give them, because they built their gaming company not of fresh ideas but on the backs of other’s who put in the hard work.
Microsoft have shown us that they care about gaming and continue to think up new ways to make us enjoy games again. Sony is putting out the same crap they always have, without even a hint of originality to their name. LittleBigGame aside name another game for the system that is original and completely unseen before in gaming.

“name another game for the system that is original and completely unseen before in gaming.”
I can hardly do that for any system. You try.
