Nice article on 3rd parties and Nintendo at E3

Thursday, July 17th, 2008 at 3:24pm by Jack

I wouldn’t say this article is anything major, but Reuters (via NeoGAF) has an article up describing how Nintendo is starting to win over third party publishers.

There’s even some solid reporting by the journalist who wrote the article, as they accurately quote Microsoft Xbox division Don Mattrick’s PR spin, and then smack it down in the next few sentences with a fact or two about Ubisoft, EA and even video game journalist go-to analyst Michael Pachter. Worth a read, especially after this E3. It’s a quick one.

Good read, though I wouldn’t say it’s a shift so much as it’s a nudge. The Wii has the largest userbase but it falls short of consoles from previous generations with the largest userbase when it comes to third party support.

Pretty good article. The only thing I’m seeing is, like ubisoft, the type of games being created for the wii.

Man this is weird but didn’t the NES do the same thing. For the longest time there where just NES games then there was tons of 3rd party support.
The SNES was like that a little also. It came a lot quicker then SF2 came out!

What is funny is even the motion plus will make even the stupidest mini game fun now. I mean really you’ll see because it has the potential to take the waggle out of every thing. It’s like playing pong with out the knob but and analog stick where you can charge the net now.

Gamers may not see the potential in this but developer should have shit there pants even if they just heard about it. I bet the red steel guys went and got strippers that night!

There is too much money to be made on this platform and no one has the hardcore in a grip yet! It’s all up for grabs and The new CAS JUDGMENT game is looking good along with conduit. Lots of this stuff maybe able to support the motion+.

Another thing is nintendo and 3rd parties could just sequel every thing they made in the last 3 years and add motion plus to the gameplay and sales would go up across the board. Well every thing that needed waggle before and things that needed more precision. If they really do make Wave race for Wii resort then this thing could suck lots of my time away!

Suddenly water race games, speed boats, paddling sight seeing games, man I you get the picture. The simplest ideas can be pretty damn fun now since the control is so high you can add lots of hidden difficulty to keep players engaged.

If they put a glider in this also this this hands down will seal the gen war. Crazy amounts of people want pilotwings.
