Neo Geo VC games to clock in at 900 pts?

An IGN interview with SNK’s Ben Herman, via Aeropause:
With NES at essentially $5 and Super NES at $8, we’ll be putting our games at just a little above the Super NES point.
Neo Geo games for $9-$10? Who’s feeling the love this morning?

Considering what the real games cost, this is a steal!

From what I’ve heard, Neo Geo games are hard to come by and expensive, so this could actually be a realy nice deal.
Now I only hope they put Neo Geo on the euro VC too.

So when am I gonna be able to get my Samurai Showdown on?

If it were the right NeoGeo game, then yes $9 or $10 is very much worth it for an AES or MVS ‘rom.’
All of the systems now have Metal Slug Anthology, so they’ve pretty much screwed themselves out of the most well known Neo Geo franchise - however there are a few other games that I would surely pay for:
- Magician Lord
- Puzzle Bobble [a.k.a. Bust-a-Move]
- Ninja Combat
- SNK vs Capcom Chaos
to name a few.
Neo Geo games are expensive and the carts are very delicate. I picked up an AES system within the last few years, and there really is nothing like playing those games with the ‘Geo arcade-style joystick controller. That being said, I would LOVE it if ‘Geo games started showing up on the VC. SNK Playmore would stand to make a good chunk of money, but I’m sure that the purists over at the NeoGeo forums will be pretty TOed [how dare anyone else be able to play 'Geo games unless they are paying full collecting price].
Bring on the NeoGeo games!

It would be good for the Wii and the Wii Shop Channel…but ultimately, I couldn’t possibly care less.

I hope snk makes a wii arcade stick, it’d be really disappointing if they didn’t.

Wii is doing a great deal with this. neo geo has in my opinion the biggest cult status of all consoles, ever. Especially thanks to the arcades, which we unfortunately don’t have anymore (as far as I know) here in The netherlands. gooooo niio giio

FINALLY. WE CAN GET SOME GOOD FIGHTING GAMES. I no longer have to wait for capcom to slowly squeeze all the SF II’2 out of their ass until SUPER comes out to get a decent 1-on-1 fighter!

You can bet your ass we won’t be seeing any Last Blade, Metal Slug or KOF 2000+ for a loooooong time; these games are still being released as full games on current systems. We’re gonna get milked with original version of Fatal Fury and World Heroes, along with the crap like Magician Lord. Frankly, those first few years of Neo Geo gaming weren’t all that good, and even recent entries like SvC Chaos stunk of monkey ass.
10$ for World Heroes is going to be way too much. I don’t care if the Neo Geo gams used to cost 150$ a cart, it doesn’t mean it was ever worth the price of admission.
