You know, I have no idea why or how, but I completely bypassed Super Metroid in my Super Nintendo years (during which my age ranged from 5 to 10.) I think it was more because, somehow, I never really heard of the game; instead, I was wrapped up in Super Mario World, Super Mario All-Stars*, Super Mario Kart, and Capcom’s Megaman X series, which, after viewing the above video, I realized is very similar to Super Metroid.
I’ll definitely have to purchase this game when it comes to the Virtual Console; I have a strong gut feeling it will be released the same (or perhaps a week before or after) the release of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. That is, of course, if I manage to get a Wii in time!
*A friend of mine had an edition of Super Mario All-Stars that included Super Mario World; I, however, wasn’t lucky enough to find this version of the game. But no worries, Super Mario World came with my Super Nintendo when I got it as a Christmas present in 1992!

This is making the wait for Corruption all the more painstaking. Only a few weeks…only a few weeks. Then, Metroid hunting season begins anew.
