Medal of Honor controls better than Prime 3?
Wednesday, October 24th, 2007 at 10:54am by Blake
It does according to IGN’s Matt Casamassina:
I just want to put it out there: Medal of Honor Heroes 2 officially beats the pants off Metroid Prime 3 in the FPS control department. This is the new Wii benchmark, period. Not even close. Seriously. Wait until you get a load of how beautiful the controls are
A first-person shooter on Wii with better controls than Metroid Prime 3, not to mention 32-person online multiplayer? Sounds like fun.

Shooting up people in army games never had the greatest appeal to me. (prefer blasting hideous beasts) but I may have to check this out.

This is so great to hear. I’ve been waiting for a solid shooter on the wii, and not to say Metriod isn’t, but dang it i want the punch of bullet-weapons, not phasers and light beams. That combined with fluid wii controls — holy crap. Thanks for making it even harder to wait for the November games.

After their resent attempts at making wii titles I don’t know if I can trust EA to make this a decent game. I was at one time pretty excited about the game but now it’s on my wait and see list. Hopefully EA will be able to get their act together for this game.

@bob
people who have played it seem to have had a positive experience. It’s nothing groundbreaking in content, but controling better than Metroid Prime 3 bodes well for the rest of the game.

And the graphics don’t look too bad: not embarassing, at least.
Online-multiplayer FPS that controls better than MP3=Awesome
Releases the day after Super Mario Galaxy=Problem

Meh.

I haven’t played MOH2 but how exactly can a game “beat the pants off” MP3’s controls? Honestly, what was there to improve? I didn’t have any trouble with anything about MP3’s controls; they were intuitive and have multiple sensitivity settings.

Until you have to plug in 31 feckin’ friend codes, that is.
October 24th, 2007 at 4:30 pm
@ Ninja-Bot:
EA doesn’t use friend codes. Yeah!
October 24th, 2007 at 4:55 pm
Great game or not, I’ll only buy this one used, because I don’t want EA to have my money. They’ll just use it to swallow up more smaller studios.
October 24th, 2007 at 4:59 pm
your saying that EA doesnt use friends codes? At all? What if I want to face my friends? How do I set up a match with them?
Anyway, me and my friend are trying to decide to get batallion wars or this. I think this might have a better chance right now.

32 person multiplayer will be a Super LAG fest.
They should just go with 16 max, and make it SMOOTH.
Seriously, if the X-box couldnt do it why can the wii do it smoothly.
Anyways, BETTER Wii FPS controls than prime 3?
Sounds great, I will cheak it out but prob a rental.

Sigh, I hate being stuck with a Gamecube where the only decent multiplayer FPS is TimeSplitters 2… curse you, leukemia! I mean, hell, even the hospital I go to has a wish fund for people whom are terminally ill… I see people get far more expensive items, such as 32 inch HDTVs, all expense-paid trips to Cancun (which cost $1400)… and when I ask for a Nintendo Wii, they go, “$270 [plus tax] is too much to spend on a game. Why don’t you ask for some board games and books”. And I’m not kidding, either. I don’t mean to complain, and I apologize for doing so, but it’s sickening when I have a few months left to live and the wish foundation won’t even give me the one thing I want more than anything… *sigh*
Anyhow, once again, I sincerely apologize for going on like that (I barely have any friends left to let steam off with ever since they found out I don’t have a lot of time left)… as for the game, if the controls indeed ‘beat the pants’ off Metroid Prime 3 in that department, especially with 32-player online play, I really can’t see the game being unsuccessful. It already looks like loads of fun. Then again, I’ve never tried MP3 or a Wii and probably never will, so… I’m probably not the greatest judge, hehe…

Looks pretty good, the graphics are nice, and the rail shooter mode and online are very welcome additions. Although in another preview I read they said the ai was crap.

Keyboard/mouse will be a thing of the past …Anything better than MP3 that it is close and acurate to a kb/m it has to be equal or superior than a kb/m ..32 online multi-players with no friends code its a game that is holding lots of high expectations and this will have to show off the Wii’s controllers and online capabilities… (crosses fingers)
This holidays is not looking bad at all with games like, MOH:H2, Zack & wiki, Battalion Wars 2, THE SIMPSONS, Manhunt 2, Fire Emblem, Super Mario Galaxy, Geometry Wars, NiGHTS, Link’s Crossbow Training, Rygar, Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games and Guitar heroes 3, etc can keep anybody busy with a Wii already, the problem is will they be enough Wii’s for others to played them on..

Good to see developers are finally getting the hang of it. Might check it out if the reviews are good.

@Krizen: I’m sorry to hear that you are terminally ill and don’t get to play the Wii!
And none of your friend has a Wii either?
October 26th, 2007 at 12:12 am
I have one friend whom didn’t immediately drop me when they found out I was sick (the others’ reasons are apparently because they don’t want to get depressed… so selfish), and no, he does not have a Wii, nor will he be getting one anytime soon.
It really tortures me when I hear of people whom are just letting their Wii collect dust, while there are people such as myself who would give anything for the chance to play it.
Oh well… sorry for sounding so depressing, guys…

Hey Krizen, I’m really sorry to hear from you what you are going trough!! I’ve been to America 9 years ago, staying there (Okmulgee, OK) as an excahenge student for a full year, and I had to know a person, Michel, that got the same disease that you have. She, sadly, died 2 months after I got home but she still in my heart and in my head as she gave me a great example of strength and will power!!
Anyway, I was thinking of starting a fund raise to buy you a Wii and a game of your choice. What do you think?
I already started a thread on the forum of Infendo and you just have to say if you agree and how we can make that come true.
Don’t be shy!! These day there are so many way to do anything online that we can make it real!!!
Hope you will say yes and one day we can get in touch via a Wii!!!
October 26th, 2007 at 7:51 pm
Oh wow. That would be AMAZING!!! Thank you so much for even OFFERING to attempt this! I truly am not a selfish person, and under any other circumstances, I would protest. However, there is absolutely no other possible way for me to get a Wii, and if people are actually willing to donate, then sure!
You’re extremely kind, Paolo, and I appreciate it. I really doubt people would be willing to do this, for this is the internet, and it’s hard to take people at face value… I would not blame anyone if they thought I was lying… but at least both God and myself knows different.
It would be a dream come true to experience the Wii. If there is anyone able to donate but does not believe my situation to be real, once again, I cannot blame you for thinking so… but if you are willing to donate and do so, I thank you from the bottom of my heart, and you will remain in my prayers for the remainder of my days.
Thanks again, Paolo. Just the OFFER of trying to create a fund for me honestly brought some cheer to my dreary day. It’s so nice to know that someone out there actually cares. =’)
