Got a handful of Ninty game updates for you on this fine Teusday. First up. New Metroid Prime 3 screens. We normally don’t post screenshots, but hey, it’s Metroid!

Next up, got a UK advert for the fun looking Mario Strikers. I’ve said it a thousand times, but previews have only good things to say about this game. Hopefully online play delivers as well.

And lastly, Super Smash Bros. site (really, a blog) is now live with details on making the games, screens, music, etc. A must for fans of the fighter.

Can’t wait to see those amazing jaggy graphics on my tv.

Eh, the new screens of Metroid don’t impress me much. I’m still foaming at the mouth to play it, though =P

The commercial for Strikers is really funny- it has really got me wanting it NOW =D

And about the SSBB site, I was kind of disappointed with the update. I was expecting to actual news, but I guess I’ll just have to wait =[

They look ok, but honestly don’t look any better than MP2. And the fact that they aren’t talking about online at all is starting to worry me a lot. But it’s still a must have on my list.

I don’t often say this, but Mario is out next week in the UK, way before the US! Online depends on friends codes and I hear you can play against anyone anywhere if you share codes but you can random match anyone in your region code.

Oh, and the guy in the ad is Ian Wright, whose name was mentioned, a famous ex footballer (Arsenal and England).

please , let Mp3 have co-op and online and im sold.

From other places I’m reading, don’t hold your breath on MP3 being online multiplayer. In fact I don’t think has any multiplayer period. And it makes sense, if it is online, Nintendo would be touting it. I’m extremely disappointed in this news. I’ve been touting to several friends with Wiis who are growing restless that once MP3 comes out, we’ll tear it up online. And now that’s probably not going to happen.

As good as Nintendo can be, sometimes they do things that just make me shake my head.

“if it is online, Nintendo would be touting it”

We really don’t have any info about it at all so I wouldn’t really say that. It was learned that Mario Strikers: Charged just a few weeks before its release.

    Fistful of steel… love it.

I really hope this game makes good use of the Wii remote.

And what is up with everyone screaming for online multiplayer? The Metroid Prime series on GameCube was about the incredible single-player experience. Sure, MP2 had that “meh”-quality afterthought of a multiplayer mode, but it didn’t hold a candle to the single-player experience. I just don’t think Metroid is meant for multiplayer… although maybe it might actually be a fresh experience with the Wii remote.

actually, i dont get people begging for online also. some people want online in every game though, which is stupid, its a waste of resources for the developer in this game especially.

first, metroid is not an fps even if it has elements of that. second metroid has always and will hopefully always be a strong single player expeirence, meaning levels that wouldnt be good for multi, but great for single player.
also, metroid local multi is fine if they do it right, but since you should only be looking at this for the traditional single player experience, and nothing has given you a reason to hope for more, anything more should be considered a bonus, not expected.

mph is fine, but its not the experience metroid is all about, if you want an fps from nintendo, or a third person view online game, ask them for a new franchise to do it with, but dont ruin metroid with such thoughts.
