IGN: Zak and Wiki a ‘must buy’

IGN, as told to us by 4cr, is falling head over heels in love with Capcom’s adventure title, Zak & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros’ Treasure:
In their latest podcast, the IGN Nintendo crew does some extreme pimping of Capcom’s upcoming Zak & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros’ Treasure for Wii. While they don’t (can’t is probably more like it, though it’s obvious they possess an in-progress copy) divulge any new details about the game, they say that it deserves to be placed in the top tier of upcoming Wii titles, alongside Smash Bros, Mario, and Metroid. In addition, for fear of an Eternal Darkness repeat (the ‘great game gets criminally overlooked’ scenario), they’ve officially started the Buy Zak & Wiki Campaign 2007.
Give a lot of guff to IGN, I does, but in this case I’m willing to give them a break. Silly title or no, this title might be the match that reignites people’s thirst for quality adventure games. As long as they aren’t of the incestuous Blue Lagoon ilk, I think we’ll be alright.

I have to admit, this game has me intrigued. If I could play only adventure games and never have to shoot and kill stuff again, I’d be fine with that.

I saw the video for this game on IGN, and I must admit, at first I really did underestimate it, thinking that since it’s a point and click adventure game it won’t be any good. BUT I was sure as heck wrong. This game looks really sweet. Also it’s the game everyone should be waiting for as a Wii owner. This game really using the Wii’s motion sensing capabilities in the most creative way! I just might pre-order this game! ^_-

What’s the hate surrounding IGN all about? I hear people talk about them in forums and such, and most seem to hate them. They don’t usually say why, though. I have found nothing to really call them on, either. They have a great series of podcasts, their reviews seem to be the best around (although not 100% perfect), and they get some good scoops now and then concerning previews.
Someone inform me why they’re so bad. I’m intrigued.

Along with Infendo Radio, IGN is AFK is one of the two best gaming pod casts out there!

I WANT to buy it, but i cannot find a EU release date. But hey i’ll first get Mario Party 8, oh wait, that’s delayed again …
