Only three songs from Death Magnetic? Man, I thought the whole album was gonna be downloadable! Bummer.

And sorry to double post, but those three aren’t even the best songs! I mean, Cyanide is awesome and the other two are so-so but I would have much preferred The Day That Never Comes or maybe The End of the Line… ugh.

wow i love some of those songs
i really think the only thing to differentiate rb2 and ghwt is the track list. the rest of what’s unique seem so peripheral to the experience of rocking out with friends that theyre not even important to me.
for me it’s a close call…. i love blind melon… but i also love rhcp….

Expect the rest of the album to be released in the coming weeks/months.
Lame, I know…

@Jake: It’s amazing just how much Boston was made for games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band.

Preordered last week - sooo excited.
Damn late Australian release dates.

I know what you mean! I can’t wait until they start adding “More than a Feeling”, “Peace of Mind”, and the entire “Greatest Hits” album.
That and some Queen would be great. I’m not much of a vocalist, but I’d love to have a go at singing “bohemian and rhapsody”.

I got the game last night. For some reason, I can’t download the songs directly to SD Card. Anyone else have this problem?

Before downloading the song you must always have at least a song block size amount of free memory on your Wii and then it will prompt you to transfer the song to SD. For example…You want to download a song that is say 300 blocks in size. You must have at least 300 blocks free in the Wii internal memory in order to hold the song. When done downloading you will be asked if you want to place it on a SD card for normal song streaming.
So you can’t technically download songs “straight” to the SD card…just a transfer/holding system. It makes sense.

Anything is awesome, just finished playing it on expert guitar. Haven’t tried Electro Rock yet, and I’m not bothering to play the guitar duels until I beat the game anyway.
Not related to DLC, but playing bass is so cool with the open note. I played bass the for the entire Tool set and had a blast. It takes a while to get used to playing with it and integrating it into HO-POs, but it adds a great layer of difficulty that bass was otherwise lacking. Maybe once someone trades in a copy at GS I’ll actually buy the game. >_>;

IMO, “Electro Rock” was meh, but “Jessie’s Girl”, and “No Rain” were awesome.
I tried “Anything”, but my friends and I thought it wasn’t too bad.
I may download some more songs, but I’ll wait a few weeks or so to see what else becomes available (besides the ones shown above).
I’m a little saddened by the new Oasis songs that they’re planning on releasing; they need to put some more old ones up there as well.
And the entire GH3 lineup (well, most of it) should be downloadable as well.
I hope all this DLC gets better in the future!

@ Jake: Oh…well, that’s kind of disappointing, but…thanks!

If anything, the Zakk Wylde guitar duel is the best of the free downloads.

@Joltman
And people wonder why I don’t like PA; lame all over.

What?! No Megadeth?! What about some more Rage Against the Machine? Liquid Tension Experiment? Wait, that’d be too hard.Harder than TtFaF for sure.Needs Soundgarden too.

Atlantis, did you know that 20 million kids are eaten by bats every second?
October 28th, 2008 at 1:14 am
Luigi Kid, I echo your call for Megadeth. Playing songs from Rust in Peace and Peace Sells would be infinitely more entertaining than playing mediocre modern Metallica tracks.

@Derek
Rock Band already has the full Peace Sells album
