Superior guitar/bass tab, now with 100% more drums, vocals, and battle of the bands using create a song mode? Color me excited for this fall.

Superior guitar/bass charts? Where? The video is just a bunch of lame high school “actors” “rocking out”. As far as I know, there’s no footage or even screens of GH4 note charts.

I think Blake was referring to Guitar Hero, in general, as having superior tablature to Rock Band and other competitors. I just hope GH4 Wii is a priority SKU for Activision this time; GH3 was a monster for them on the platform. Even better online modes and more Wii-centric features would be great, IMO.

sign me up. canceling my rock band order.

So will it be called Guitar Hero 4 at all? Or just GH:World Tour?

That’s what I was afraid of. It’s commonly agreed that the Harmonix-made games (GHI&II and Rock Band) are superior to GHIII, which was made by Neversoft.

And I’m sorry to say, Game Informer reports that the Wii and PS2 versions won’t have the same amount of online modes as the 360 and PS3.

    @neko,

“It’s commonly agreed that the Harmonix-made games (GHI&II and Rock Band) are superior to GHIII” by whom?

Everything I’ve heard or read was that the guitar on Rock Band was too easy compared to GHIII. I’ve even played both games myself and my opinion is that GHIII was by far more difficult than Rock Band.

Gameplay footage? Screenshots? Wake me up when we get some.

    neko + Cephas = whiners

Hopefully the drummer in GH4 will have some rhythm. :)

CLARIFICATION: After playing both Guitar Hero III and Rock Band extensively, I think the former is much more enjoyable in terms of challenging guitar and bass tablature.

Rock Band is so fucking easy.

the point is moot for people with only the wii.

rock band on wii is so butchered its not worth it if GH4 comes even close to its experience in using multiple instruments, as everything else about GH4 will be superior to RB.

also, yeah, its pretty bad when the Wii GH3 sells about as well as the 360 version, if not better by now, and thats with the 360 having the advantage of already having fans with guitars from the previous games released on the system. of course people will go with what saves them money.

despite that, the wii version keeps up, and wii owners still seem to get the short end of the stick. you just cant make publishers happy these days.

i bet GH4 for wii will mop the floor with all other versions, but that means no respectable version til GH5 :(

    Looks great! But expensive….

  13. jtman says...

its awesome looking, and everyone who said its bad should buy a new life with your Rock Band money.

    Six words people:

Are You Gonna Go My Way

It’s about time… I’ve always wondered why this wasn’t on Rock Band sooner, it was a perfect fit. Now I know why.

Guitar Hero is the whore of Babylon.
    ever since gh3.

  16. sharp says...

“Guitar Hero is the whore of Babylon.
    ever since gh3.”

And I would tap that whore ass all night long.

  17. Quizzly says...

Since they fail to deliver a full Rock Band experience for wii Id say this is really something to wait for.

  18. T smitty says...

But seriously like it’s like hey Harmonix thanks for making us buckets of money but now we’re going to go into direct competition with you.
