Excite Truck dev working on “top-secret” Wii game

What’s the game called? Well, it’s top-secret so I can’t tell you. Locally Grown, however, has the quiet details:
Right now, the 20 employees at Monster Games are working on a top-secret video game for Nintendo. They’ve worked on it for two years and are nearly finished. The process is so private the designers must darken their monitors when the bottled-water deliveryman enters the office. The company won Yahoo’s “Best Racing Game of 2006″ award for its last game for the Nintendo Wii called “Excite Truck.”
I’d do cartwheels if it were Excite Truck 2 with online multiplayer, but that doesn’t sound so “top-secret,” does it?

This truly excites me (no pun intended). I think they did a great job with Excite Truck and I can’t wait to see what “top-secret” project they are working on now!

Some sort of racing game I’d assume. Too soon for it to be Mario Kart.
A Legend Zelda horseback racing game, perhaps?

I’d do backflips if it was Excite Truck with better graphics, online play, and many more tracks. This would make an awesome game even better.

Sorry for the double post, but another possibility that just crossed my mind (and excited me quite a bit) is a new Wii Waverace. I would love that.

I could see F-Zero, Pilotwings, or Waverace, yes.
I never understood the fascination with F-Zero. I’m sure I’ll catch a lot of flack for this, but there just isn’t much to that series beyond driving really fast and…well, that’s about it.

although i wouldn’t consider excite truck 2 top secret that would make sense as well.

I would love to see the next F-Zero game. Especially on the Wii.
It could benefit from DLC as well. Players woud be able to spend like 100 - 200 points on ship parts to customize your craft. And you know you hate it when you get a wii points card, spend it, and you have a couple hundred left over that you can’t spend.
