Crowd sourcing on display in new Metroid commercial

I love when large groups of people watch me play games. It’s like on The Last Starfighter when the entire trailer park community cheers on Alex (1:03 in) when breaking the highest Starfighter score.

I watch the Last Starfighter way too many times when I was kid.

    That’s a long commercial .. I wonder if it’s for movie theaters.
I wonder how much longer Nintendo will continue the “two guys and a smart car” ad campaign.

I love how at the end of the commercial the kid looks over and seems to recognize the “two guys” walking by… a sign that yes, Nintendo has been using them for quite a while now, but they still work pretty well?

And man, that games looks just AWESOME!!

Well, the critics got what they wanted!! A marketing commercial! The funny thing is, I see this commercial aimed at the “casual gamer”.

Most “hardcore” gamers that are complaining about marketing already know about the greatness that is MP3 and basically felt like “they” were gettin the shaft in the marketing dept.

This commercial is WAYYYYY different than the Halo 3 commercials I have seen on TV.

But to me, this commercial makes MP3 the FUN FPS.

I like the fact that the commercial involved all types of gamers - young, old, girl, guy gamers - and the commercial is in keeping with their other first party title commercials and maintaining Nintendo’s philosophy of inviting everyone to play games, even if it’s in the middle of a busy airport terminal.
