Captain Olimar & Pikmin join Super Smash Bros Brawl on Wii

There hasn’t been any Earth-shattering news coming from the Smash Bros Dojo site for a while now, but today we get a new character! Captain Olimar and five colors of Pikmin will be available as a new challenger. You can even hear some of the music they will be using from the Pikmin series.
This makes me wonder, with the game coming out in Japan in only two weeks, will we be seeing a few more character announcements now? Which characters are you still holding out for?

Megaman is the character I’m holding out for. I’m still hoping Capcom will get behind this game. I guess we will know this stuff for sure in about two weeks when Japan gets it and information starts trickling through the interwebs.

I was hoping for a ‘micro-brawl’ mode where tiny characters like Olimar, Chibi-Robo, or even Minish Cap Link could duke it out in the giant environments, but zoomed way in.

Sorry to say it guys but Capcom said they hadn’t been contacted by Nintendo regarding brawl. And since it gone gold… Yeah no Megaman.

Alright, for all you who worry about Captain Falcon, just shush. You know he’s going to be in. Why would you want an update on a character that is 100% guaranteed. How do I know this? Well, aside from the three games that have been released and the fact that he is a pure Nintendo character, he is a fan favorite. That’s what SSBB is all about: pleasing the fans.
Geno? Heck no. I don’t even know who that is. But I do know that he was only in one game as a side character. Ice Climbers starred in their own game, even though it was only one. Geno will be an assist trophy, though, seeing how so many people want to see him.
Luigi will be back. No more clone characters, but Luigi can easily have new moves. That’s probably why the gave Mario FLUDD. So they could give Luigi the Poltergeist.

You beat me to it, my points exactly. It’d be pretty weak if Nintendo announced ALL their characters (or close to it) through the website. You KNOW a lot of characters (minus clones as Stan said) are coming back. And also many other surprise characters too, like how nobody knew about Marth and Roy in Melee and all of a sudden they’re super popular. Cappy and Luigi will still be there, being as popular and important as they are to the Nintendo line-up, it’d be stupid if everything was announced prior to the game’s release. Surprises will still be there as will older, non-clone characters.

I can see that you would want Megaman in Brawl, but you guys make it sound like he was supposed to be in it. If there was a rumor based on an actual fact (or document) where/what was it? I thought I knew all there is to know about Brawl (what we do know about it I mean) and I have never heard any mention of Megaman being a Brawl even as a rumor, thought it was just some fanboys’ dream.

The roster is very full, now. A week ago (heck, a day ago), I would have said Olimar. But now that he’s in the lineup, I can die happy.
In any case, I have to agree with the very first person to post a response here: Mega Man and Wart would be top-notch.
A Midna/Wolf Link combination character would be awesome, too.
The only other character I’d like to see that hasn’t been announced but is likely to make an appearance is Ganondorf.

I’m with all the Pikmin fans, I seriously hope this addition to Smash Bros is some sort of nod to a fututre Pikmin Wii game.
At least it’s good to see Pikmin has not been forgotten. Pikmin 2 was one of my favourite games on the Gamecube.

only character i want for brawl, is captin falcon, all the other characters are kiddie and gay, this is brawl give me that one guy from melee that was a zelda boss
