This sequel to the popular Wii Sports makes use of the Wii MotionPlus accessory, which gives players the most responsive and realistic experience possible. The Wii MotionPlus accessory, which is included with Wii Sports Resort, plugs into the base of the Wii Remote controller and, combined with the accelerometer and sensor bar, provides an experience that gives players an even greater sense of immersion.
Just as with Wii Sports, people will love competing against friends and family. As the competition heats up, Wii Sports Resort is as much fun to watch as it is to play. First-time players will find it easy to pick up a Wii Remote and jump into the action.
Wii Sports Resort takes place on a tropical island. A wide range of activities will keep players coming back for one more round. Some sample activities include Sword Play, Power Cruising (racing a water scooter) and Disc Dog, which involves accurately tossing a disc to a cute, Mii-like dog. Yeah, it is kinda like Wave Race.
I have been waiting for a new Wii sports title!
I hope that the move to a ” resort” wont limit the types of sports.
Hopefully a few of the old classics like Tennis and Bowling will return with a bunch of fun new games.
I am interested in the 1: 1
Lol looks cool but will fall short compared to Wii sports…
anyway all this is is a bonus for buying the Wii Motionplus (likw wiiplay is a bonus for buying the remote) , which im perfectly fine with it even thought they sell it and promote it the other way around..
The Sword Play looks real interesting. Frisbee and JetSki also. Curious about what else will be at the Resort. Ehemm…golf…did I say golf? No I mean golf.
Back on the Gamecube I was hoping for something similar…Mario Country Club. Camelot’s awesome Golf and Tennis games on one disc, plus a clubhouse that had pool tables, maybe some casino games. Plus, events like dinners and dances and tournaments and character interaction. Kinda like a virtual Caddyshack. Only limitation was a single golf course, but hell, warp pipes to other courses???
Put the country club on the beach, and you have lots more activities. I don’t think that is the direction Nintendo is headed here, but I like the resort idea.
So we’ll get this for one MotionPlus, then get the other three separate. More dough to be spent. It never ends!! hehehe
Going to get it w/ or w/o that stupid accessory.
So will this one have online play?
It will be interesting what other games they add to this, and how much the package will cost. They should aim for 5-10 games. At 5, they shouldn’t charge more than $30 for the package, if they can get it up to 10, then $50 would be reasonable.
@klawz324: Since Wii Sports was packaged with the system, I’m sure the sequel will fall short. That’s like blaming Mario games for not selling as well as SMB 1.
I think it will do well enough to justify it as a sequel.
this game is going to be awsome. think of it.. .its a new WiiSports, its got sword fighting, new motion+ thingy. there is no reason that this game wont we be cats pyjamas!
Man I wish they’d offer this as a downloadable game in addition to retail. There have been so many times I wished Wii Sports was sitting in my Wii digitally. It’s the kind of game I rarely pick to just pop in, but when it’s in, it’s in for a while. Cme on Ninty, give us choice, give us choice!
The swordfighting looks way fun and, should it work as advertised, totally puts to bed Lucasarts’ whining that a wii-lightsaber game is hard to do.
More information about the other games would be nice, though.
I just wish this was coming out before Star Wars: Unleashed so they could incorporate the WiiMotionPlus into the game. Looks like I won’t be buying Unleashed now while I wait for a Star Wars game with these controls to come out. Thanks Nintendo for preventing me from buying third party titles yet again…
Disc Dog?
Did they forget about the disc competition in Nintendogs?
Otherwise,it looks fun!
Para gliding and even a good old pilot wing glider would be sweet! Only 3 games out of an avg of 10 for Wii Mii type games.
Shrewd move business wise. Think about the success of Wii Sports, a hefty percentage of the userbase (inculding myself) will definately want a sequel and so including the Motion Plus with the game ensures that that finds its way into as many households as possible, increasing the possibilities of making a game that supports it without limiting the amount of people who can actually make use of it. Very clever indeed
.
I will get it, but would enjoy it much more if it were online.
