5 seconds of research says that Dig Dug was released in North America in the Arcade, on ColecoVision, Commodore 64, Xbox Live Arcade, Atari 2600, Atari 7800, Atari 8-bit home computer, and the Blackberry not to mention a ton of free sites, and i am sure any number of hundreds of clones for every operating system ever made.

Once again they release a game on VC that I loved as a kid, and once again it’s a NES port, which I assume makes it as clunky and substandard as Pac-Man and Galaga.

But like everyone else, I have so many options for playing the arcade version of Dig Dug that there’s no temptation anyway.

Fun little bit of trivia: The first time I got to one of the forced-scroll levels in Mario Galaxy, I thought they were starting to play the Dig-Dug music; the intros to the two tunes are really similar.

Well; we get two more games that didn’t get released in America. As much as I like Dig Dug back then; I’ve played the game on Commodore 64 and have no interest of playing it now. Bio Miracle looks pretty funny at least from a premise standpoint; but I’m not going to make a ruling on it until I get a chance to play it..Again; I need the MON…EY which is in short supply right now. As for Pokemon Ranch; is there some sort of inside joke about the graphics? Seriously; it seems every Pokemon appearance in 3D looks lame at best and terrible at worst compared to other 3D. I don’t think it’s unintentional anymore judging by this one. I’m not really interested in Pokemon Ranch; I’m still getting through Pokemon Pearl at this point (yeah; I’m a year behind everyone on that title; so shoot me.)

@GradiusFan - I think you hit it. That game was plenty played out by the time NES hit the US. Dig Dug II was pretty sweet. Isn't it weird that Mr Driller is the son of the character from Dig Dug?

Yeah I always wondered why the nes had dig dug II but not the first one. Maybe they thought it was too “atari”.

Meh, if I still had my copy of Pearl I’d probably pick up Ranch, but I traded it in a long time ago.

I’m considering getting Pokemon Platinum when it comes out, and if I do I’ll probably get this to go along with it.
