Holy cats, it’s the original Mega Man! Also, Midnight Pool for WiiWare from Gameloft and the SNK title Neo Turf Masters. Check out full descriptions after the break. Will you bust out 500 points for the original Mega Man?
WiiWare
Midnight Pool (Gameloft, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone-Mild Suggestive Themes, Simulated Gambling, 800 Wii Points): Take a trip across America to make your dreams come true in a pool tournament worth millions. Visit the most colorful bars and meet seven of the coolest players on the circuit, from country music star Travis to Alison the biologist and John the sheriff. Learn the tricks of the trade through tutorials along the way, while advanced players can take on challenges to show off their trick-shot abilities. Keep things interesting with three sets of rules.
Virtual Console
Mega Man (NES, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone-Mild Cartoon Violence, 500 Wii Points): Join the blue bomber in his first-ever adventure as he battles the evil Dr. Wily and his robotic henchmen to restore peace to a troubled world. Mega Man is a super-robot created by the genius scientist Dr. Light. When Dr. Wily goes rogue with an army of six of his own devious robot masters, it’s up to Mega Man to put a stop to his nefarious plot by traversing a series of stages rife with enemies, traps and perilous platform challenges. At the end of each stage, conquer one of the robot masters and claim his weapon as your own, using it to your advantage in subsequent fights.
NEO TURF MASTERS (NEOGEO, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone, 900 Wii Points): This is a golf game that was first released in 1996. The player picks one of six available golfers and competes on a number of golf courses around the world, including Japan (Fujiyama Oriental Golf Club), America (Grand Canyon Golf Course), Australia (Blue Lagoon Golf Course) and Germany (Baden Golf Course). The game features two modes of play. The first is Stroke Play, in which the player attempts to get the best score by playing all 18 holes. The second is Match Play, in which two players compete to see who can win more of the 18 holes. Grab a friend and get ready to hit the fairway.

We have the MegaMan collection Game for the GC, so we already have this Megaman game, otherwise I might be interested. The golf game looks pretty good, but again we have a few golf games already, and I think I’ll pass on the pool game. But I will say that today’s offerings look better than most weeks, it’s just too bad that I don’t really need any of these titles.
Same as you, Joshdad. I have the Mega Man Collection on the GC. I’m almost tempted to still get it because I could then play it with the sideways remote, no wires and such. But there’s a line that I must not cross between convenience and plain laziness.
I used to have Midnight Pool on my cell phone, and I actually really liked it. I’m gonna play it safe on the WiiWare version though, and wait to see some reviews. My standards for mobile games are a bit lower than for consoles or handhelds. Who knows, though? Maybe it will be good.
On a side note, when am I going to be able to move a mobile game that I purchased over to my new phone? It would sure be nice to be able to transfer from phone to phone, seeing as it’s the same account, and I did PAY FOR IT once already.
I’ll get mega man later. I just bought a gameboy color, super mario bros. deluxe, and the legend of zelda: Oracle of seasons for $13, so I can kill my boredom with those.
Great release week! Well I guess I’m out $22
I tried out Turf Masters before; it’s actually a nice golf game albeit the female Japanese announcer, in the game, can really get annoying.
As for Midnight Pool; that just came out of nowhere. If it’s really good on Wiimote controls (like actually using it as a cue stick) I might think about that one. Gameloft, much its a company that makes cellphone games, are on a roll with their WiiWare stuff with decent stuff, not incredible or AAA stuff, but just decent.
I would get Mega Man if I didn’t have the aniversery edition for my GC =|
Like so many others, I have the Mega Man Anniversary Collection on GCN, so I’m set for that.
I won’t be spending any money on games until Mega Man 9 comes out, actually. It’s not like I have anything to look forward to beyond that, either, which is unfortunate. Darn you Nintendo and your Wii Music!
While I do as well have the GCN collection of Mega Man games, I am still going to download Mega Man.
Why, you ask?
Because I can finally play the true style, NES controller-style!
As many people know, the GameCube controller doesn’t feel totally right when playing a Mega Man game; the buttons are too big, wrong places, analog stick instead of control pad, etc…
I like having the true nostalgia effect, including the controller style, and the Wii Remote does just that.
The Wii Remote is just as great as the NES controller, but without the huge dents left in my palms after a few hours of gameplay
So I’m definitely forking over $5 for this classic title! And I’m going to do the same for Mega Man 2 when it’s released as well!
ugh, the midnight pool game is horrid
