Two new WiiWare games today coming at us. One is the anticipated Bomberman Blast and the other is a new first-pary game that we haven’t heard much about, Art Style: ORBIENT. Over on the VC we only get Super Turrican 2 today. Full details after the break. Anything here inspire a download for you?
WiiWare

Art Style: ORBIENT (Nintendo, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone, 600 Wii Points): Explore the universe like never before in Art Style: ORBIENT. Take control of gravity and anti-gravity and carefully maneuver your small star through 50 stages set in multiple galaxies. Collide with other stars to absorb them and make your own star expand in size, or capture the stars in your orbit and have them become your satellites. Space isn’t empty, though, and you’ll have to avoid bumping into obstacles or getting pulled into a black hole. If you feel like relaxing while still being challenged, this is the game for you. Its combination of simple controls, atmospheric sound and unique environment make for an experience unlike any other.
Bomberman Blast (Hudson Entertainment, 1-8 players, Rated E for Everyone—Mild Cartoon Violence, 1,000 Wii Points): A brand new addition to the Bomberman series is available on WiiWare. Up to eight players can battle online simultaneously via Nintendo® Wi-Fi Connection. Simple controls make this a great game for family and friends to enjoy anytime. You can trigger new items by shaking the Wii Remote controller, creating new levels of Bomberman excitement. You can even take the intensity up another notch by adding your own Mii caricatures to the mix. Battle results can be recorded on the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Ranking, so you can see how you stack up against others around the globe. This title will prove to be a blast for everyone–from those who’ve never touched a Bomberman game to the Bomberman masters.
Virtual Console
Super Turrican 2 (Super NES, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone—Violence, 800 Wii Points): As the last survivor of the United Freedom Forces, it is your duty to destroy the Machine’s forces that have devastated the galaxy. Fight through countless hordes of enemies using everything at your disposal. Use weapons and power-ups to fight back the tide of oncoming enemies. Use special abilities like the Energy Wheel and Cyberfist to find secret areas and score extra lives. When your lives and continues are gone, the mission ends. You are the galaxy’s last hope. Are you up to the challenge?

A title I actually haven’t heard of coming out for Wiiware, and from Nintendo no less?
Sounds good.
From a poster on WiiWare-World:

Art Style: ORBIENT sounds suspiciously similar to Orbital, one of the Bit Generations games on GBA. Lets hope that means the whole series is coming to WiiWare.. Digidrive was ace.”
That would be awesome.
Bomberman will probably be something that we’ll get. I’ve always like the Bomberman games, and being able to play on-line sounds really good.
Can anyone find any screen shots (or even better a video) of Art Style: Orbient? I’ve checked quite a few places (Youtube, WiiWare world, Nintendo.com, Gamespot, Yahoo images), and nobody even has a single screen shot of the game. You’d think there would be something out there to see before deciding on whether or not to get the game.
Super Turrican 2 looks just like so many other games – I’ll pass.
This is the first time the internet has heard of the game.
As always, there will be a video available on the Nintendo Channel.
Updated with Orbient screenshots (sadly, they are tiny).
Oooooh Bomberman! With 8-player online no less and leaderboards… VERY interesting indeed.
Cripes, where is my storage solution?!?
If Orbient is a remake of Orbital, I will absolutely buy it. Orbital is one of my very favorite GBA games! Although, I don’t think it would be possible to improve on Orbital’s very simple graphics.
Sweet. Orbital is one of the best bit generation games, and very hard too! Orbient looks to be a remake. Expect a lot of frustration from getting lost in spiraling orbits, and cursing!
Definitely grabbing Bomberman!

where the heck is Mario Party 1?!?!?!
Bit Generations Wiistyle! Cool!
@ Derek
Thanks for the link to that new trailer.
Now that I’ve seen the game play, I can honestly say – I have no idea what in the world you are supposed to be doing. If that is the extent of the game, it looks pretty boring.
I think I might actually download Art Style: ORBIENT. It looks like one of those ambient, veg-out games and I’m feeling kind of tense right now.
I was never a big Bomberman fan, though, so I’ll have to pass on that one.
got it for gba and playing it on my gba player. orbital that is. very good game.
bomberman is fun!!
I’m thinking about getting Bomberman, but I’ve never played a Bomberman game before.Should I get it?
