Check Mii Out Channel goes LIVE
Sunday, November 11th, 2007 at 9:46pm by Jake
Just a reminder, the new Wii channel, Check Mii Out launched about an hour ago. As a refresher the channel “…Lets Users View, Vote for the Best Mii Creations…”. I’ve used it for about 15 minutes and have to say it’s actually pretty neat. The channel interface is clean, informative and includes quite a few options. The Mii creation contest for this week is a hatless Mario. I hope to see some Infendoites Mii’s entered. So get to downloading. You can’t beat a free channel!
[Thanks, Cantide]

Cantide… hey, I remember you! Why don’t you come back to the forums?

I hope that this free channel is more appealing than the others.
I am absolutely uninterested if people prefer Dogs over Cats, actually.
Still if it is free, why not give it a try I say!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT! So excited!
Also, I’m lying.
I want to get excited for this, but I already maxed out my Miis.
If they would increase the limit from 100, I would truly be excited.

I’m not going to lie, the Channel has yet to meet my initial expectations. My first two impressions of it were that it was confusing and bland, although the music is awesome. It’s retarded that you need to give your Mii’s initials when you upload them and the search engine is quite useless.
Overall, I hope the Channel gets better in the next few weeks, otherwise I will be greatly disappointed.

whoa, didn’t know there was a 100 limit.
Just jumped on, contributed my hatless mario. Good times, i’ll be more regular at this than the Everybody Votes. Plus, i’m always looking for more celebrity wiis for guests to use at parties.
Oh and, in the Posting Plaza - soooo many Michael Jacksons and Albert Einstein. No need for more!

This channel may finally give me the incentive to take the time to create the Wiigles (murray, jeff, anthony and greg) that I’ve been thinking about.
Gotta love having a two year old to drive your inspiration.

Oh yeah.. That should be next weeks theme: Kids Shows. I’m sure my niece and nephews would help me out on that one.
Submitted my hatless mario which doesn’t look anything like him because I couldn’t figure out how to do the ’stache or the hair.

Its pretty cool but for some reason (probably for “internet safety”) you can’t submit actual names for your Miis. They have to be mere intials.
November 12th, 2007 at 12:50 am
My Hatless Mario rules! Question for those in the know:
Can you see the Miis that you have uploaded in the general area? I uploaded 9 and couldn’t spot any, even when I searched by “Skills”.

@Rushlion
I don’t know. It might take a while for them to pop up. I never searched for mine I was just lucky that I spotted a few of my creations in the top 50!

The initials on every Mii is kind of annoying.

Lame. This is a year late. I would have had a lot of fun with this if I just got my Wii but the Mii channel is really only fun for making avatars of friends I actually know these days. Hurry up, Wii Ware!

It’s funny to see how many creations are so far off from their real counterparts. I wish they would let us put the actual name instead of initials, but I guess they don’t people putting Penis and Boobs as names.

I got home late tonight to find my Wii glowing blue. Then I remembered about this channel, so I tried it.
And I’m actually enjoying this one a lot. The creative barrier that I thought existed isn’t there anymore! Some of these Mii’s are crazy. I like this channel.
Then again, I was all about Everybody Votes… but after a month I was like “Meh.”

I think this will be a cool channel, looking forward to try it today! I agree this comes in a little late, but this will be the most often used channel yet.

Well I just got home from work.. glowing Wii for me!
I actually thought that us Aussies would miss out for a few months like usual. Not the case!
Looks good so far. I like the competition idea and am impressed with some of the creativity of some people’s Miis.

I just downloaded it. I wonder why t got a name change for the EU… My version aint called ‘Check Mii Out’. Instead it’s called the ‘Mii Contest Channel’. Meh, either way I love it. Couldn’t believe how many Darth Vaders have been made though 0_0

There are a LOT of submissions so far. I will be coming back to this channel to keep my ‘Artisan’ rank up. It may get tricky.

I guess I represent people that loves this kind of things around here. I love the everybody votes channel, I’ve voted on every poll until now (well, maybe I’ve missed two or three). And I love this new channel too!
I’m surprised how many Albert Einstein there are. My own Einstein is just one of many. And of course, I submitted my hatless Mario, he rocks!
November 12th, 2007 at 11:59 am
The first thing I saw when I used this channel was a guy with a penis hanging off of his face.
November 12th, 2007 at 1:22 pm
I did not have the update on my Wii.
November 12th, 2007 at 8:15 pm
I thought I was really being creative with my Venture Bros Miis, but there are a TON of Dr. Ventures and Monarchs out there!!
Surprisingly, mine was the only Niles Crane that I saw online.

There should be a filter on this channel when it comes to submitting Mii’s.
There are more than enough of these kinds of Miis…
1) Adolf Hitler
2) Albert Einstein
3) Darth Vader
4) Mario/Luigi
5) Naruto
6) Kenny (Southpark)
etc
So… come up with something else people!
November 13th, 2007 at 1:50 pm
And what about Michael Jackson?!? It seems every 10th Mii in there is an MJ! I’m submitting mine, by the way, just in case Nintendo caves in and starts a Michael Jackson Mii contest…
I actually submitted my Richard Dawkins, in case you want to check him out… It’s designated as “R.D.”, of course, and his skill is writing (again, of course!)
