If you take out all of the obvious highly anticipated Wii titles coming out in 2008, you’d probably be left with some kind of “sleeper hit list” of titles that could very well be the silent but deadly killers in the console’s arsenal.
Conveniently, Planet Wii assembled a list of 10 Potential Sleeper Hits for Wii that are worth a look. Some titles, like Mushroom Men, Boom Blox and De Blob, have been talked about and previewed here on Infendo. But there are others. Oh yes, there are others! Find them below.

The summary of Rygar is telling, in my opinion. Basically, Tecmo was going to port the PS2 game to Wii, a la 2007, but has apparently scrapped that idea in lieu of a graphics and gameplay overhaul. It’s almost like we’re seeing a microcosm of what’s happening in the games industry all wrapped up in a little game about weird enemies and yo-yo shields.

Battle of the Bands is the Guitar-Hero-with-missiles, right? Yeah, that one sounds like it could be fun. The others, I have no idea. Gotta wait and see, I guess.
Not too sure about Monster Lab, since it is rumored to be coming to the PS2 as well.
All the other ones have potential, even Rygar, which is now a re-make than a port.

My most anticipated game isn’t even on this list! Where’s Baroque??
This list is a bit thin IMO and I’m a strong proponent of the Wii. :\
Don’t hate me, but I’m kind of looking forward to Opoona. I don’t know if it will be a sleeper hit though.
Perhaps I should have said nothing…
I hope that some of these games, and others for that matter, will be big surprise hits.
With only Brawl and Mario Kart announced thus far from Nintendo as sure-fire big hits for the Wii, I am getting little nervous. But then again Nintendo could be holding back a big surprise…
I’m with kentbphat. I already have Opoona reserved, and as one of the Wii’s only real RPGs I’m excited to play it.
Wii is a great invention. The console is fine but I personally think their games are a little bit expensive. But it is a great console though. I love Nintendo, but only can only to play Nintendo classic.
Yeah, I’m thinking that Monster Lab looks pretty good.
