Question: What video game franchise not found on Nintendo consoles (e.g. Grand Theft Auto, Halo, etc) would you most like to see on a Nintendo console and why? Speak up, man!

I wouldn’t pick an FPS, we have an awesome one on the horizon, and even still, FPS’s, although people may argue, are usually pretty generic, they add soemthing to the small plotline, but other than that it’s all just quality of game, playability, graphics and the like, they have nothing to make them stand out as a franchise (other than hype *cough*halo*cough* of course)
nor would I pick a racing game, realistic ones like GT can easily be remade under a different name without the need for the franchise to make it into a good game, kart like games all seem to have copied mario kart anyway, and why would we need another one of them when we have the mother of them on our nintendo consoles anyway.

I say.. Ratchet and Clank for definite. It’s a great game, funny, witty, great comical story and extremely fun to boot. Not to mention addictive; getting all the weapons and upgrades.

I know Grand Theft Auto has come out on the DS, but I haven’t played it so I can’t say if its good or bad. However I would like to see that on the Wii (providing that the controls are good/customizable). I think if they played their cards right Grand Theft would do very good on the Wii, especially if the game itself would be Wii exclusive (not the entire franchise just in case anyone misunderstands).

  3. InvisibleMan says:

I’d like to see a JRPG that combines discreet 3D graphics with traditional animation, such as the Persona series on the PS2. The Wii seems even more technologically adept than the PS2 to support these kinds of games.

i’d like to see a proper stryder game for the wii, with one to one motion that would be sweet. the one we got sucked compared to the genesis’ version. i also liked the road rash series. i don’t believe those ever came out on a nintendo system.

  5. Josh says:

A western style RPG series would be great. Like Elder Scrolls. Hopefully this is the “big” game coming to the Wii from Bethesda.

  6. Lite (on a crappy PC!!) says:

Halo would be great, but honestly, I want Street Fighter to come back to Nintendo.

  7. Gojiguy says:

I would say King of Fighters but SNK fixed that not too long ago. Now I say Street Fighter (in agreement with Lite). I mean. TvC is awesome but I’d seriously like any post-SFII Street Fighter on the Wii. Maybe the VCA will solve this.

I also would like Little Big Planet, but I don’t think the hardware of the Wii or DS could really handle all of it.

A Soul Calibur or Tekken game might be cool on Wii or DS if done right…

But yeah, Street Fighter needs to come back to Nintendo. And keep it colorful. More SFA3 than SFIV, you know?

  8. Mark says:

I’d love to see Kingdom Hearts on the Wii. I think Squenix could make it work really well with the console, and I’d love to be able to play the new Kingdom Hearts without having to buy a new console. Besides, the Wii could use a few more really good RPGs. It’s probably the one genre that’s really suffering on the Wii right now (although Dragon Quest X is something good to look forward to =D).

  9. Kyle says:

    Counter-Strike on the DS

    Half-Life on the Wii

  10. Andrew G. says:

If we’re talking the current-gen consoles, I’d love to see a Metal Gear spinoff that plays to the strengths of the Wii. Otherwise, not much else.

  11. Cory says:

Quite honestly, monster hunter to wii is good enough for me.

  12. Roddy says:

    Kingdom Hearts.

  13. Leco says:

Well, I don’t know if it counts, but I’d say “Maniac Mansion”. Both the first one and “Day of the Tentacle” were great games, and were good examples of a great adventure game.
Hopefully, with Fate of Atlantis hidden in the new Indy game, LucasArts will have the bright idea of bringing Bernard and the gang back again.

  14. Jonkind says:

Half Life (Gravity Gun with Wii controls would rule it), Metal Gear, Portal

  15. J_man86 says:

    God of War.

Anybody who has played this series needs no explanation of why it should be on Nintendo.

Because it’s effing awesome, that’s why!

(also, I wouldn’t mind Devil May Cry in Nintendo either)

  16. kingmohd84 says:

RPGs with new fighting system using Wii’s motion advantages.
Those are about the only games where the story really matters more than the graphics, so the Wii can beat ps3/360 in this area.

I think some kind of Human vs Aliens FPS would be great, some FPS. More stuff like manhunt too

  17. Protector one says:

Ico, SotC… Yes, I’d like that.

  18. HyperPhazon says:

Starcraft DS (with battle.net features of course). The DS seems like a natural fit for the RTS genre, so why aren’t we seeing more of them? This game doesn’t require that much power to run, so it could be ported (at least I think) with no loss of graphical quality. This game could be controlled with great ease using the DS’s touchscreen, and it already has an extremely loyal fanbase (plus, 11 years later and this game is still selling), so releasing this would be a guaranteed profit for Blizzard.

  19. deepthought says:

    StarTropics!!!!!!

also, how about that NES Willow game on wii-ware?

  20. MrMiyamoto says:

Katamari, by far. Would work great on the Wii.

  21. kurtalert says:

Leco, you´ve said it man, Maniac F#ckin Mansion. I´ve been praying for that for years…..
