Virtual Console Monday - Adventures Of Lolo 2 and Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers
Monday, January 21st, 2008 at 9:28am by David
Keeping their sad trend of only two games a week this year, Nintendo announces the following Virtual Console games available on the Wii Shop Channel today:
Adventures Of Lolo 2 - NES - 1990 - 500 Wii Points
Lolo and Lala are back in this sequel to the popular puzzle game The Adventures Of Lolo. On their return from the Haunted Castle, the Great Devil kidnaps Lala and challenges Lolo to rescue her again. Now he must take on the challenge of the Great Devil’s Tower and Castle mazes.
Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers - SNES - 1994 - 800 Wii Points
When Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers debuted, the fighting-game genre was forever changed. Along with a revolutionary combo system, the game introduced a new set of challengers to fight alongside the original Street Fighter II cast (T. Hawk, Deejay, Fei Long, and Cammy).
My nephews have a cat named Cammy.

Did I read somewhere, maybe here, that *more* games would be released each week? I’m patiently waiting for Majora’s Mask..it’s the only console Zelda I’ve never finished.

I already have Lolo 2 on my NES so I won’t be buying it but I would recommend you to try since it’s a really great game. Lolo 2 is pretty challenging and there are a few puzzles that are frustratingly hard and the challenge level is generally pretty good.

The small number of games isn’t cool, but at least they are both good quality.
Lolo is a great puzzle game, and Lolo 2 continues where the first game left off by providing more great challenges. For a measly $5, you get a lot of clever puzzles to unravel. (Believe it or not, Lolo was one of the biggest reasons my sister was excited to buy a Wii. Her husband was leaning towards Metroid Prime 3 - but at least they’ll both be happy.)
I’ve always preferred Street Fighter II Turbo because of the increased speed… but apparently there is a trick to increase the speed settings of Super Street Fighter II as well. That makes it a good deal if you haven’t already downloaded an eariler version.

folax: Have you ever tried Lolo 2? It’s far from the bottom of the barrel, it’s one of the best puzzle games I have played.

WOW Folax… You just won the prize of the writing down the most idiotic combination of words I have ever read in my life. First you are just plain wrong about the games not being good/important games but mainly I find it retardedly distgusting that you would have such a small brain (and small penis probably) in order to say that you need a good video game download in order to memorialize the birthdate of Martin Luther King Jr. i know you’re probably just 10 years old and I shouldn’t let you piss me off, but I’m grumpydavid. Have fun playing your pirated roms you cocksucking, grandma’s asshole fantasizin’, queen.

“Intelligent passion for all things Nintendo”
Well, it looks like we can officially rule out the first word of that sentence. And the thread started off so well, too.

Sigh…
I really wanted SSF2, but I couldn’t wait and bought King of Fighters ‘94 instead. With that, KoF is good enough for me till Samurai Shodown 2 comes out.

Super Street Fighter was great fun on the SNES. I played it for so many hours with friends, and alone for that matter. Good times =)
But, I wont be downloading it, no matter how much retro fun I had with it back in the day as a kid.
Super Street Fighter II HD Remix, or whatever the hell its called, with all new graphics, animations, online play, the original arcade perfect version as a bonus and HD graphics will soon by on X-box Live arcade. Making this game on the VC, well, very aged and very tired in comparison.
