Camera software makes DSi a Japanese Photo Booth

Sunday, October 26th, 2008 at 6:32pm by Sean

Although we have yet to see how DSi games might utilize the two Cameras featured on Nintendo’s new portable, this video gives us an idea of some if it’s capabilities.  Users can distort images using the stylus, change the color of specific objects within an image, distort a face to match emoticons, and use a Conan O’Brian style if they mated feature on their closest friends.

The ability to customize images with stars, hearts, and frames reminds me of Purikura, Japanese photo sticker booths.  Check out Tiny Cartridge for more on the DSi camera, as well as videos of DSi sound editing software.

Wow, there are some pretty nice features. I like the morphing ability of putting two pictures together. It seems to be able to do very easily what some other programs can do, but with a lot of work.
I’m looking forward to seeing what other special features it offers.
It actually does a lot more than I would have thought it was going to do.

This reminds me of the Trace Memory in-game camera. Maybe they can use this in a sequel.

…I bet no one’s played that gem of a game but me.
