Miyamoto stated, in an interview with Time that we will see an improved Wii U user interface this summer.

“Even during the testing phase, it’s difficult to ascertain what facets of those interactions between the applications are resulting in inconveniences for the consumer until you have an opportunity for many people and lots of consumers to try these features out.” Miyamoto told Time. “What we want to do is make sure that when we release [the update], that we address as many of the different opinions about how people would like to see the system improve as we can at once. We hope to cover a wide range of requests while simultaneously ensuring it’s a very stable update to the system.”

For some, this is is an update that we need.  Especially when it comes to playing Wii games on the console.  For others, they are satisfied with the current UI.  What do you think about an updated user interface, and what enhancements would you like to see?

As long as it doesn’t add useless features or make it harder to navigate, like every YouTube layout update, its a-ok.

Interesting. So not only will we get those two firmware updates for load times, we’ll get a new coat of paint as well. Can’t wait to see/hear what is contains.

I just want an update that stops Miiverse from freezing constantly. It can’t be good for my system having to hard reset it nearly every time I go on Miiverse. The Channels or whatever they are called these days are perfectly serviceable but look outdated. Loading times are a pain but I don’t really mind too much. WaraWara Plaza is kind of boring too.

Obviously folders, and it would be cool to improve the MiiVerse experience.

I believe everything looks great, however, one thing that has always bug me is the loading screen from the applications. Wii Street U’s loading screen looks great, but the Wii U Menu, Miiverse, etc… needs a better looking screen as opposed to the logo encase in a square with a drop-shadow haha.
