After buying, renting, or borrowing a disc, which Wii games are played for the longest amount of time? According to the Nintendo Channel (compiled by Kotaku), below are the top 10 most played Wii games, not to be confused with the best-selling or most well received:
- Smash Bros. Brawl
- Guitar Hero 3
- Animal Crossing City Folk
- Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
- Zelda Twilight Princess
- Call of Duty: World at War
- Harvest Moon
- Rock Band 2
- Rune Factory
- Lego Star Wars
Anything surprise you?

The fact that Rune Factory is actually being played is a surprise that actually makes me very happy.

lol. Accident. Anyway I figure wii sports because most people don’t play an extended period of time. Most don’t even play other than an occasional half an hour with the friends.

What I find amazing is Fire Emblem. I can understand the others on the list.. games like Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon are games where you play on a daily basis and can spend/waste time do things and that time adds up very quick!
Most of the others makes sense in the fact that there is tons of replay value (Brawl, Rock Band, Guitar Hero) and you can add tons of time up on these as well.
Fire Emblem didn’t sell a ton (compared to the others on the list) so the people who do have the game are sure racking up some serious hours on it! Makes me want to go out and grab a copy. I did enjoy the previous ones… but is it that long of a game or do people replay the game over and over that much? That’s a whole lot of hours!!
Ruin Factory is good to see people playing it! And Lego Star Wars at #10 is great to see… it sold boatloads and it is a fun title trying to collect all the special items etc.

Brawl GH Rockband no surprises. Call of Duty no surprise as there is basically a whole different game online 2 spend AAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGEEEESSS on. Surprised Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games isn’t there though.

Yeah, I have a hard time believing that Rune Factory, Fire Emblem, and Harvest Moon beat Wii Sports or even Mario Kart.
Lego Star Wars makes sense since it’s been out longer than the other Wii LEGO games and it is one hell of a treasure hunt game.

I wonder if the expanded Groovin Blocks will be worth a look. I never downloaded the original, but I read that it has great music. It would suck if those music tracks weren’t included in the new release.

sorry for putting my post in the wrong place, it was obviously meant for “new releases”
can someone fix this?

I’m really surprised there’s no Mario Kart on that list. That is by FAR the most played game on my console…

Rune Factory is on Wii??

Can’t believe no Wii Sports or Mario Kart.
I’ve racked up some serious hours on FIFA but I spose that’s not too big in the States.
I didn’t even know Harvest Moon was out for the Wii and I’ve never heard of Rune Factory – it any good?

Shit yeah, seeing Fire Emblem on there is pretty sweet. In terms of time spent playing the game, I’m pretty sure people like me skew that number higher than the average player. I’ve played through Radiant Dawn on all 3 difficulties and spent roughly 150 hours doing so. Of course, that’s nothing compared to the 600+ hours I’ve spent on Brawl, but still.

Give it 6 more months, I bet we see EA Sports Active creep up on this list. It’s gotten the most spin in my Wii for the past few weeks. EA has a real winner on it’s hands with this title.

Cool, good to see some 3rd parties there. Rune Factory is awesome, BTW.

Ha Twilight Princess was one of the best launch titles ever and is one of my all time favorite titles for Wii. And of course Brawl got first, no surprise there!
However… I did not expect Fire Emblem to beat out Zelda or even be up there (I didn’t like that Fire Emblem as much as the others). Harvest Moon was another surprise. I can think of many other titles that I would expect to be up there: Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart, Wii Sports, etc. I know this is just a list of “most played”, not “best games”, but come on! Don’t people play BETTER games MORE?
