Saturday, July 4th, 2009 at 4:00pm by Will
It’s the fourth of July, many people are throwing BBQs or are at theme parks waiting for fireworks displays at sun down. Me? I’m writing about Patriotic games, cause I did all that stuff yesterday. So if you want to check out what I consider to be the top 5 patriotic games skim through the pages, I also added an extra non-Nintendo game at the end (I couldn’t help it). So check it out and let me know what your favorite patriotic games are as well!

“[Call of Duty lets] you see some of the real effects of war and shows you the events that have transpired in the past.”
Oh, really? Have transpired in the past, eh? More like “have been displayed in some hollywood jingoism propaganda movies for a general audience in the past”. However, the game certainly can inspire patiotic feelings in people too ignorant to actually learn some history.

@ Nikita
He combined both games into one post, Medal of Honor has some past events that have transpired, but all these games are nothing but bullshit anyway. They’re not the real thing, they are only a simulation.
They still can give you a patriotic feeling, which I understand was what Will seemed to be conveying.

“Believe your Justice“!
Truer words were never spoken! (In broken English.)
That last game makes Bush look so… heroic. Too bad they didn’t make the Vice President look like Cheney also. That would have been GOLD!
It makes me almost want to track down the game and buy and old Xbox just to play it!

too bad g.i. joe doesn’t stand for american hero anymore. with the new crap movie coming out instead of general issue joes (a term from the second world war for american soldiers and their gear) it stands for global inteligence joint operative bla bla bullshit.
i’m sorry but that is not what i grew up with nor does it convey the diversity of our culture and country. the point of g.i. joe was to show how america was made up of different cultures and people. by using our differences to our advantage we will overcome the evil or “cobra” that threatens our way of life. whereas now it’s being turned into a politically correct international team and organizations like nato have to be involved. america can’t save the world anymore by ourselves. dumb, we never could save the world by ourselves, but it was the romance of the idea that we could that makes g.i. joe great.
this is so little kids in friggin france can say “i’m a g.i. joe hero too”. no, no you’re not, so go get your own toys and classic cartoons to ruin. sorry way off topic
