I bet Nintendo won’t sue over this. They’ll probably have Miyamoto say something like “Well, it’s very flattering that our arch-nemesis would use one of our most beloved franchise themes to lauch their dying console.”
Well, he wouldn’t say the PS3 is dying cuz he’s too polite, but we’re all thinking it.
On the other hand, I’d LOVE the big N to totally sue Sony for whatever they have left!
Malaysian won’t even know the difference, it’s funny for us, but I highly doubt that idiot knew what he was doing. Or, he lost a bet, and got to go through that BS by some weird custom in his old fraternity or something, you would be surprised to know it could be true.
You really can’t say that the PS3 is dying. In case you haven’t noticed, the system is getting some major game releases for this Holiday season making them a big contender, unlike Nintendo. What does Nintendo have to offer for the holiday season, Um toys really. Wii Music is a toy along with Animal Crossing as these games aren’t really games in the respect of what games are. Meaning that those games have no clearly defined goal in the game, unless you count paying a debt or playing Happy Birthday perfectly a goal. With no sign of heavy hitting titles like Pikmin 3, Disaster: Day of Crisis, The Conduit, or any of Nintendo’s core first party titles, Nintendo seems like as far as core gaming, they flopped this year, it’s still all about the soccer moms buying Wii Fit and the forty odd mini game compilations that sucks.
While Sony will have Resistance 2, LittleBigPlanet, the Home service, Socom, and many other games this year. So I wouldn’t say Sony’s PS3 is dying yet, it was, but now it’s getting it’s power players into the stream of awesome games to be released. Honestly Nintendo’s going to be left in the dust when it comes down to high quality games this year.
And I agree that Shigeru would say that it’s very flattering for Sony to do that. But I don’t think Nintendo considers them arch enemies just as much as they don’t consider Microsoft archenemies. All Nintendo wants to do is make games, and not worry about this console war, otherwise, Microsoft would’ve successfully bought Nintendo and/or Nintendo would’ve taken the Sega route after the crappily selling gamecube.
As much of a Nintendo fan as all of us on this site are, you also got to pay attention to all aspects of the gaming industry and also the little facts as well. And I think Nintendo wouldn’t sue over something that stupid.
But it is still funny that Sony did screw up like that, but it won’t matter in a couple days when the Malaysian folks go and buy their Playstation 3’s and start enjoying some of the great titles on there like Ratchet and Clank Future, or Drake’s Fortune.
Actually, technically, I’m pretty sure that’s from Soul Calibur, not Zelda, it is the zelda theme, but it’s the rehashed version they used in Soul Calibur 2 (unless I’m mistaken).
But yeah, awesome!!!
I wouldn’t agree with the PS3 dying comment, The console is only now coming into it’s own but it’s starting to cotton on to what Nintendo thought a while ago, they need to get games out there that appeal to everyone, hence the likes of LittleBigPlanet. I’m actually buying a PS3 within the next couple of months, so yeah.. The PS3 is looking a lot more appealing over the next year than it has done in its previous year.

It’s been months since Nintendo’s terrible E3 and you still find the need to stroke your fanboy ego as reassurance that everything’s okay?
I know I still need to.

Funny stuff. Not even close to as lame as Nintendo’s E3, but yeah.

I wouldn’t expect any less from Sony.
