Sean, thanks for that.
And John, you bring up an interesting comment/discussion, probably best left for another thread. You say Nintendo “missed the boat” on HD gaming, but it’s not as simple as that. Suffice it to say, they didn’t really have a choice and as it happens, it was the best thing for them to do. Sure, I wish the Wii was HD too, but if it had been, we might be watching Nintendo go third party right now.
@ Used Cisco,
“The issue is if two games are equally fun, do you have a preference for graphics or control?”
This argument is about the Conduit. It is only on the Wii. So to say you won’t have fun because it looks like crap is a dumb argument. Where else are you going to play it? It has no equal. There are games that are similar, but to pass on the Conduit based solely on graphics is a weak approach. It may be the best FPS of all time, but someone that won’t buy it because the graphics don’t compare to PS3/360, stupid.
@John
Sorry John, looks like I read you wrong there. I admit that if I were in your shoes, I’d have done the exact same thing (after all, if you can get the exact same game in HD and have the added bonus of XBL, why not go for it?). I’d have to agree with Used Cisco though. If Nintendo went for the HD market and tried to compete there, they’d have been chewed up by now. Instead, they went an entirely different direction and are now on top (I suggest reading up on Blue Ocean Marketing and reading some Malstrom). Though, I care less about HD than most because our TV only does 480i and we wont be getting another one for at least 5-10 years.
@King,
“This argument is about the Conduit.”
Again, you’re getting confused. I have every intention of buying The Conduit and have even explained why in this thread.
I made a statement about preferring IR control to Dual Analog and referred to dual analog as “last gen”.
You referenced this in your comment:
“What ever happened to buying a game just because its fun. Who cares if it has crappy graphics or “old†dual thumbstick controls.”
Obviously you weren’t speaking about The Conduit when you mentioned “who cares if it has “old” controls” since the conduit has IR controls. You were speaking generally, as was I, about buying games that are fun simply because they are fun, not specifically about buying The Conduit or not. We were no longer referencing the conduit specifically, as you even acknowledge with your above comment. Which just goes to show you did miss my point whether you’ll admit it or not. Maybe you didn’t realize the conversation had broadened, or maybe you forgot what you had said, I’m not sure. But don’t worry, it happens to the best of us.
You’re right Used Cisco. You’re the new King. Do you want to use my name?:)
I’m trading in Halo 3 and Gears 2 for this.
At least there is still innovation in the video game industry thats pushing the industry forward into new heights.
No thanks. I took a look at your site linked in your handle, there’s some really funny stuff on there. But it would be better in HD with IR controls.
calling this game a halo knock-off is just stupid. just had to get that off my chest.
This game has nothing to do with Halo! This game is all about secret agents destroying aliens! Take that Master Chief! Checkmate.
@ Used Cisco,
Touche!
