What better way to replay Minish Cap and other GBA classics than on the AGS-101.

Just eBayed one. Can’t wait to play it. (NOTE: I bought the original silver frontlit one in the spring of 2003)

If you have the games you can legally emulate them on an android phone.

    I have a GBA SP.
I can’t do a trade-in at gamestop since I ripped off the bar-code thing on the back a few years ago. :/

i play my gba games on my micro. i play old gb games on my frontlit gba sp. yeah i guess that’s cool for old gb games, the newer sp model. anyone have the gb light from japan? that was pretty cool too.

I am eager to get one of these. Anyone know if all pearl pink and pearl blue are AGS 101 or was there an earlier release of that color?

I bought one on ebay just a few weeks ago, it was the metallic metal color(the noticeable difference from the Black AGS 001 is its buttons are black). The only thing I don’t like about the AGS 101 is the digital vibrance is too high. I also have the original silver front lit. I think the mico has the best picture quality.

Pearl Blue, Pearl Pink, and Graphite are AGS-101 colors, although, I’ve run across a Pearl Blue AGS-100 before, so buyer beware. The AGS-101 is a huge difference from the front-lit version. I’m a huge GBA collector. Presently, I’ve got about 10 different GBA-SPs (only 1 backlit version), 3 GB Micro, and 1 original GBA. I’ve also got the original GB, GBC, and that Japanese only GB Light. Along with about 70 games across all the GB versions.

I still have a backlit blue, still play Wario ware twisted. Possibly Nintendo’s greatest handheld? Thought about buying a micro the other day….

Well, if you want one for playing GBA, then the best option is the GB Micro. Better screens, great lighting options and a small design.

Gameboy Micro is about 10x better than an SP imo. only problem is no GB/GBC games.

  12. Xman says:

Why not just play on your DS lite?

  13. Uge says:

Because the DS is too big, especially if you grew up with the older systems like the GB or GBC. (you’d like the smaller non widescreen aspects of the system). I never liked the original gameboy advance because of that format. Plus I also love playing all of my old GB/GBC games that I cannot do on my DS Lite. I own all the Nintendo portable systems (sans GB light) and will play the “old” ones when i wanna feel nostalgic every now and then…

They just stopped taking GBA stuff at gamestop. They called it a collectors item. What jerks. The GBA was supposed to be the 3rd pillar… But now it’s dead
