I've always said that if you want to experience the best the PSP has to offer on the cheap, just get a PS2!

And the only real competition for Wii happens to be... the DS!

I've read some os his previous interviews before and they have been quite good. This was no exception. Some fair points about the PSP's main competitor being the GBA market.

We kinda figured that Jack, you do say a lot of exaggerated things, but thats what we (or at least I) like about you. Though you did bring a really good concept out, that the newer consoles still haven't beaten the old ones.

I also liked his comment about PSP just trying to be a console. The systems limitations (looking at you analog nub) prevent it from having those experiences though. A PS2/PS3 controller has 2 sticks, a d-pad and 10 buttons. The PSP is trying to do genres that REQUIRE two sticks, and more buttons, it just doesn't have the hardware for it. Whereas the DS is removing the need for those buttons, or making up for them with new control ideas for older genres.

No kidding, walter. And I agree 100% about the PS2 comments above. The NES comment from me was exaggerated on purpose ;-)

i agree that the ps2 is the ps3/360s competition and they have failed to do what the ps2 did in the same time frame. they will not reach the ps2 height by a long shot.

This was a very cool interview, I like his idea of putting quality software on new ground in the gaming industry.

I also actually think though that the PS2 toppled the NES, I agree and disagree with you here Jack. I think current gen consoles are still fighting the PS2 (you can check the sales charts, PS2 is still kickin') Another good way to tell what console became the new standard is to look to parents, and TV shows.

My parents called video-games 'that Nintendo'. (ex: "quit playing that G*D DAMN NINTENDO!!!). My cousin's parents (he is six) call videogames 'playstation' even though he only owns a GBA and an XBOX.

And if you look at television shows, the idiots banging on controllers like cavemen are all smacking Dual-shocks around, call it Sony media control if you like, I call it PS2 still being synonimous with videogames.

Just my two cents, that and I cannot wait to play this Gaiden game.
