Hey Nintendo – pictured above is the WiiSpeak peripheral that came with Animal Crossing six months ago.  Can you please release another game that uses it?  Or maybe talk to one of your eager 3rd party developers about it?  Apparently The Conduit will use it, but The Conduit can also apparently grant wishes and emits a delightful floral scent.  So anyway, please, WiiSpeak works great … please use it for something else!

Wii Speak Channel now available

Anyone with a Wii Speak and a coupon code can download the Wii Speak Channel for free.  I grabbed it today and it looks pretty sharp.  Weighing in at only 51 blocks, it allows you to setup chat rooms with other Wii Speak friends.  It can also record messages and then send them to anyone in your Wii address book.  It also has the ability to check with your friends to see if they have the Wii Speak Channel or not.  (Apparently it’s been out for a couple weeks.)

Do you have a Wii Speak and have you downloaded the new free Channel yet?

Wii Speak Channel, Club Nintendo coming to U.S.

Wii Speak Channel, Club Nintendo coming to U.S.

I’ve been pretty Jealous of Japan’s Club Nintendo for a few years now. They get all these cool giveaways and items for sale that we Yanks only get to look at with puppy dog eyes over here in the States.

Well, no longer. Club Nintendo is coming Stateside. We should have more details from the field as Sean reports back more from the Media Summit in San Francisco, but for now I’ll leave you with an additioanl bit of new info.

The Wii Speak Channel is coming to the U.S.

“Wii Speak Channel – Let’s you use the microphone to talk to up to four groups of people at once. The hardware comes with a ticket that lets you download the channel at no additional charge,” reports Infendo field correspondent Sean.

More to come as Sean get some hands-on time with the bevy of software demos he saw this morning on the West Coast.

And a final note… It’s about BLOODY TIME Club Nintendo came to the U.S.
