Nintendo Power got me excited for WarioWare DIY

WarioWare DIY

This has happened to me a couple of times now: I know a game is coming out, it sounds interesting, but I never give it much thought.  Nintendo Power shows up in my mailbox, has a feature on said game, and I immediately pre-order it.  This time around it was WarioWare DIY for DS. Something about playing new mini-games, creating them, downloading them, and even playing them on my Wii got me really excited.  What really hooked me, though, was the realization that this is a new WarioWare game and I’ve always enjoyed the other iterations.

Anyone else ever have their mind changed so drastically about a game?  Share your story in comments.

Next Wario Ware to Allow User Created Content

The next Wario Ware for the DSi is suppose to allow user created content. According to the Japanese Wii Nintendo Channel, users are allowed to create their own minigames via a Mario Paint program and combine them together. Allowing you to customize everything from the art, music and even where to tap something on the screen. This looks promising and daunting at the same time. As a fan of Mario paint I can’t wait to play it. What do you guys think about Mario Paint and user created content in general? Do you find it easy to make or do you not even mess around with it?

Infendo@GDC – Wario Ware: Snapped and DSiWare Hands On!

Ever since the DSi was announced Nintendo Fans have been asking themselves if they really wanted to upgrade.  The question hangs heavy, because while there are new features such as SD card support, a larger screen, and the heavily touted camera, it seems to pretty much be the same old DS – not appearing to be much smaller, more powerful, or significantly superior in any standalone way.  That leaves one question – what is the software like?  Hardware is supported by software, and until we see DSi only software, why should we upgrade?  This week Nintendo showed three WiiWare titles at GDC – and while I admit they were interesting, I can’t yet say that they justify upgrading to the new handheld.
