The gaming world hasn’t heard much about Ninja Gaiden 3 on Wii U since E3 when Team Ninja said they would be bringing their action-adventure title to Nintendo’s new console. In speaking with VG247, Peter Garza of Tecmo Koei shed some light on the Wii U development and how they plan on making the Wii U version not just another port.

“It is still there. It’s not being developed in parallel, but we do have the game up and running on the dev hardware. We’re still playing with control schemes to see what would be fun with Wii U, but it’s definitely there and it’s definitely getting worked on.” (more…)

Rant: “Filmmakers”

The only way you will ever hear me say that a “movie mode” in Metroid Other M is a “good idea” is if Team Ninja has also installed an option that allows me to play the game without any cutscenes or cheesy voice acting whatsoever.

Unbelievable. I mean, really, really unbelievable.

An August release date make total sense now. This game is forgotten by Christmas.

YouTube Preview ImageWell would you look at me and my opinion on Metroid Other M. Swaying back in forth like a sock in the wind.

Before, I was skeptical. The response? Critical. Expected. Now, I see this video, and I can admit that I’m more intrigued at this moment in time than I was even a mere five minutes ago.

The voice acting and take-me-seriously Final Fantasy I wear big boy pants cutscenes still have me worried for this beloved franchise, but the insane mixing of 2D, 2.5D and 3D are starting to grow on me. Really, I mean that. I just hope the “narrative” doesn’t get in the way of the most important part of any Metroid title: the game.
