Smash Bros. like you’ve never seen them before (and hopefully ever again)

brawl_gregdestefano_21I freely admit that this is the first time something related to Super Smash Bros. Brawl has frightened me. A little. More eeriness here. That said, Zero Suit Samus is, as ever, still sexy.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl user generated content service ending

Thursday, June 4th, 2009 at 10:19pm by Jack

picture-1Nintendo quietly announced this evening that the user generated content feature in Super Smash Bros. Brawl will end on June 30.

As of June 30th, 2009, the current service that accepts user-generated snapshots, stage designs, and replay data will no longer be available. Please note, however, that we will continue to distribute such data after that date.

That’s it. No other indication given, although a little bird told me some of the more devious Smash Bros. players were uploading hacked stages that borked the system. Could be due to that or something else, but Nintendo ain’t saying either way.

Anyone really affected by this? Still bashing heads, or have you moved onto something else?

Old Famicom Games – Nazo no Murasamejou

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009 at 5:00am by Will Thompson

Nazo no Murasamejou was one of the few original Nintendo releases that never made it outside of Japan; this was due to its limited sales success. The game features a similar engine to The Legend of Zelda, but it also features a similar Super Mario style time limit. This was done to make the game a linear fast paced action game. (more…)

Sakurai announces new company and project with Nintendo

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009 at 1:38pm by Jake

Super Smash Brothers creator Masahiro Sakurai anounced today a new game development company entitled Project Sora. Nintendo owns a majority of 72% in Sakurai’s new company and has already confirmed a sercret title currently in development. When asked about the new title Sakurai simply stated…

“It’s not Smash Bros. I asked for…I can promise an experience that’s different from anything up until now.”

Try not to get the new company name confused with Sakurai’s other development studio labeled Sora ltd.

Nintendo’s finally starting to use some of that folding money that’s been rolling in for the past 2 years.

What could this new title be? It’s anybody’s guess.

A Dojo Update! World Records?

Friday, August 22nd, 2008 at 11:30am by Will Thompson

The first new update on the Smash Bros. Dojo website in a very long time, and it has to do with “Target Smash” and “Home Run Contest” world records. If you want to break a world record in either of the modes? Apparently all you have to do is beat one of the times or distances and then send it in via WiFi and it will be added to the list. I would like to have one of these world records, but who knows maybe one of you Infendoites actually set one of these.
