So, yeah, this is a real thing that happened

My brain hurts. I thought stuff like this had died out in the great Wii plastic accessory add-on extinction level event of 2009. Oh, how wrong I was. Just $50 if you act now.

Worst Wiiware week ever. Feed the pig!

Tuesday, September 14th, 2010 at 1:06pm by Richard

I hope everyone’s in the mood for another hidden-object game, because that’s the only new title Nintendo’s offering Wii owners this week.

To be clear, I’m glad Wiiware exists. It’s a great concept. When the service first launched, I bought every one of the debut week’s games. All were fun, but none held my interest for long. Now, many months later, my enthusiasm has dwindled to thrifty caution. There are some gems in the library, but we all know by now that great games are as rare in the Wiiware shop as in the bargain rack at Target. These days, if I have Wii points to spare, I’ll probably spend them on new songs for my favorite music game instead of trying out Family Poker Pirate Paintball Party.

Mr. T game in development

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010 at 5:44am by Jake Barber

This is somewhat old news, but it never really got much coverage. ZootFly, a Slovenian game developer is currently working on a game based on the Mr. T series of graphic novels for the Wii, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. It will be composed of platforming, puzzles, and beat ‘em up elements.

As if that wasn’t ridiculous enough, the plot focuses on Mr. T in fierce combat with a mechanized Nazi army in the South American jungle. T joins up with a fictionalized version of game designer Will Wright, portrayed as a geneticist to terminate the Nazi threat.

ZootFly has never really had a stellar release before, so I can’t determine if this game will be legitimately good, or just more shovelware.

Meet shovelware’s younger brother, scoopware. It’s not as tasty as you might think.

Red Steel 2 delayed to “March quarter” 2010

Monday, July 27th, 2009 at 1:26pm by Jack

redsteel2_exclusiveubinintendo_jackaltank-772009-580pxWii MotionPlus exclusive Red Steel 2 has been pushed back to March 2010 for unspecificied reasons, Ubisoft confirmed today.

The delay announcement arrives just as Ubisoft was pointing fingers and assigning blame for a substantial drop in sales in the U.S. and the U.K. Key amongst the excuses were “the economy” and “piracy.” Not present in his repertoire was “the fact that we make a lot of shovelware finally caught up to us.”

Nevertheless, Ubi’s fall lineup remains strong, even without the highly anticipated Red Steel 2 cutting things up with MotionPlus during the holiday season. Rabbids Go Home, Shaun White Snowboarding World Stage, Academy of Champions and TMNT Smash-Up are all still scheduled for a fall release, Joystiq reports.
