4th gen Pokemon Lucario is returning to the Smash Bros. series for Wii U/3DS. Lucario debuted in Brawl, alongside fellow Pokemon Jigglypuff and Pikachu (and Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard if you care to know). From Sakurai’s Miiverse post on Lucario’s announcement: “We’ve increased the influence of Aura this time, so a damaged Lucario is truly a force to be reckoned with....
Nintendo confirmed recently that Pokémon X sold 1.63 million copies, Pokémon Y 1.54 million. Those figures are through the end of December 2013 and are U.S sales only. Those figures also justify the purchase of about 1.63 million people. Because we all know Pokémon X is the superior version. Right? Source: Kotaku
Today’s edition of YouTube Spotlight takes a look at user TheJWittz’s channel, which, until very recently, covered mainly Pokemon material. As our Pokemon-loving friend explains in his top 10 Nintendo games of 2013 video above, however, he has plans to release more content on all things Nintendo, including weekly news round-...
It is always interesting to see what Netizens share with the Internet at their disposal. Today we have an impressive draw-to-scale image of all Pokémon, courtesy of artist Ray Ray at DeviantArt. Wailord (see massive blue whale near center) obviously steals the show as the largest Pokémon, easily eclipsing the diminutive Joltik. Even legendary Pokémon cannot match Wailord’s size. Can ...

Surprise! That mysterious Pokémon title you heard about has been revealed! It is a detective game that partners you with Pikachu to solve mysteries. Much like Hiroshi Yamauchi, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata isn’t afraid to admit about failure. While speaking to the B Dash Camp held at Osaka, Japan, Iwata delved into several topics ranging from the recent death of former Nintendo president Hiroshi Yamauchi to pushing the Pokemon in the Americas. Iwata later mentioned in the interview about Nintendo’s longevity and how the company ...
I recall fondly my first foray into Pokémon. It began over 14 years ago with a Pokémon Blue purchase at a local Toys R Us. I still recall the game’s packaging new smell, inserting the Game Boy cartridge, booting the game, and hearing Red/Blue’s theme song. On that day, I met Professor Oak and had to choose between three Pokémon: Bulbasaur (grass/poison-type) Charmander (fire-t...
In an interview with Polygon, Game Freak Director, Junichi Masuda discussed the possibility of Wii U getting its very own Pokémon Snap title. Fortunately, we didn’t get corporate speak. Matsuda was a bit more straight-forward: “Personally, I really love the Pokémon Snap game, but it wouldn’t be interesting if we just released the same game, how it was before, for the Wii ...

The show will follow Red, the Pokemon trainer featured in the first Pokemon games, as he explores Kanto, fights Team Rocket, tries to best his rival, and eventually challenges the Pokemon League. The traile...
Nintendo Entertainment System was the first video game system I played. Back then, my playtime was mostly a save-the-princess affair. Playing Nintendo games granted me a way to do something larger than myself. It allowed me to do good deeds. As I’ve grown older and technology has advanced, mainstays like The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Brothers, and Pokémon counterbala...
At this point, Pokemon Rumble U is the only Wii U game that makes use of the GamePad’s built-in NFC space. At almost any GameStop, you can see for purchase plastic, palm-sized capsules that each carry one small Pokemon figurine. There are 18 different kinds of toy Pokemon to collect, but there’s no way of knowing which one yours will be until you open it — or use the GamePad to c...
