Pokémon meets Street Fighter should be a thing.

YouTube Preview ImageNintendo take note. Smash Bros. is great and all, but having a 2D fighter in a Street Fighter like style looks pretty fantastic if you ask me. This fan mad fighter has so much polish that you would think Nintendo and Game Freak were actually the behind the project. The game is in beta right now, and you can actually snag yourself a copy right here. Better act fast before Nintendo’s lawyers get wind of this and send a sternly written cease and desist letter.

Fan made project such as this really excite me, even if they do infringe on a copy written piece of work or two. Remember Pokémon World Online, the Pokémon MMO? I suppose if Nintendo isn’t willing to make one, all it takes is a few dedicated fans to take up the torch. I hope this Pokémon fighting game grows legs, and evolves (see what I did there?) into something with a larger roster and a less bugs. Oh and as for Nintendo, you can have all my Pokédollars if you give me this, or a Smash Bros. style fighter with all the Pokémon. Promise.

What kind of crossover Nintendo games would you like to see? A Zelda horse racing game? Metroid dating sim? Tell us in the comments!

Is anyone playing Pokémon Rumble Blast?

We have a fair share of Pokémon fans around here, so I’m curious if anyone is playing Pokémon Rumble Blast? It’s rare that I don’t grab a first-party Nintendo game when it comes out, especially for 3DS, so I’m just wondering what folks think of this game now that it’s been out for a few weeks.

ummmm prepare to be “massively shocked”

Sunday, September 11th, 2011 at 6:11pm by Eugene
…or not. Turns out that the announcement is not a new Wii U game, nor is it a new 3DS title. In fact, the announcement isn’t even a new game at all. As it turns out, the official Pokémon Smash website has detailed that Mewtwo will be given away soon through some type of event, and next weeks episode will bring the details of this giveaway.

This news shouldn’t have been a surprize to long time Pokémon fans, as just this July we were promised a ‘big’ Pokémon announcement that turned out to be nothing more than the Pokedex 3D free download for the 3DS. While both of these news items are admittedly cool if for the hardcore PokéManiac , if you are going to detail something as a “massive shock”, it had better shock my pants off. Well, there goes my hopes of the Pokémon theme park making its triumphant return. Maybe next time.

“Massive Pokemon Announcement” teased by Japanese TV show Pokemon Smash

Saturday, September 10th, 2011 at 9:30pm by Eugene

According to Serebii.net, next week will be a big one for Pokémon fans. Game Freak’s Pokémon director Junichi Masuda is scheduled to appear on next weeks episode of Japanese television show Pokémon Smash, when he will reportedly be giving a “massive shock announcement”. No details on the announcement have been given at this time, but it stands to reason that if this news is indeed “massive”, we will at least hear a mention of it at next weeks pre-TGS 3DS event.

Masuda has been very vocal about the fact that a mainline Pokémon adventure will never come to consoles, so perhaps this announcement will be an about-face for Game Freak and Nintendo. I think a Wii U Pokémon title could be great, keeping the battle menu on the Wii U screen while leaving the action on the television.

Regardless of the nature of the announcement, any Pokémon news is good news for Nintendo as the franchise continues to be a top seller for the company. Pokémon Smash is scheduled to air Sunday, September 18th so stay tuned to Infendo for more info.

On a side note, why aren’t there any game specific shows to watch here in the states? I’m sure Call of Duty Annihilate would bring in huge numbers! On second thought, it probably is not wise to give the yo-momma screaming, racial slur shrieking audience Call of Duty caters to another venue to express themselves. That probably wouldn’t end well.
