Man Builds “Larger than Life” DSi out of LEGOs

Saturday, April 4th, 2009 at 12:24pm by Sean Buckley

Full time LEGO artist Sean Kenney just finished a promotional masterpiece for the Nintendo World store – a giant LEGO DSi.  Kenney works exclusively with the miniature toy bricks and has created anything from family portraits to full size chairs and tables out of LEGO.  The giant DSi is currently on display at the Nintendo World Store in Rockefeller Center, New York.

Check out the construction video, you can see the frame he builds it up on and a few more details:

PS2 title suggests Dead Rising Wii is a cop-out

We’ve heard ad nauseam Wii just isn’t powerful enough to replicate the massive zombie infestations of the original Dead Rising.

Above is a video comparison of Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop and Hitman: Blood Money, a two-year-old game running on a PS2. It originally surfaced in August, but it seems many of us missed it.

I won’t say a word. You can decide for yourself whether or not you believe Wii is less powerful than hardware developed a decade ago.

Tremendous thanks to Infendo reader Elmer for this link!

Realistic Kirby justifies Nintendo’s approach

Realistic renderings of Nintendo characters often pop up on the Internet. We’ve posted a few of them on Infendo before, including that creepy Bowser illustration. But this one takes the cake.

This time, Kirby gets the realism treatment courtesy of the humor fiends at Halolz. The image is disturbing, so hit the jump to see it at your own discretion. This is why Nintendo doesn’t do realism.

GameSpot says LostWinds “isn’t good enough”

Friday, May 16th, 2008 at 4:02am by Derek

In his Thursday review, GameSpot’s Tom McShea gave Frontier Developments’ LostWinds a “mediocre” rating of 5.5 of 10.

A surprising evaluation in jarring contrast to the game’s mostly glowing reviews, McShea conceded the game proves “motion controls can fundamentally change how a genre is played,” but due to sloppy controls, a “sleepy presentation and all-too-easy puzzles…LostWinds just isn’t a good enough game to make people take notice.”

Members of the Nintendo Defense Force should be sure to read his entire review before bringing out the guns; he did have some good things to say about LostWinds. But his low score and criticisms do seem to conflict with the prevalent meta-assessment of LostWinds.

It seems we have another controversial GameSpot Wii review. But to those who’ve played the game, are McShea’s criticisms justified?
