Your podcast co-host and ours, Will Thompson was one of the very first people to pick up the newest Zelda game, Skyward Sword, at the Nintendo Press Conference yesterday morning. Will’s playthrough of the demo was led by his lovely guide Amber and captured on film by Roger DiLuigi.

In this playthrough, it’s worth noting that Will got further than anyone else had up until this point and actually reached a previously unknown boss. That’s right, Will got there first. And by proxy, Infendo did too.

Black Wii

Just as some suspected, black Wii consoles are heading for store shelves on May 9 in the US and May 23 in Canada. The confirmation comes from a GameStop employee who received a monthly shipment from Nintendo containing a poster advertising a black Wii console bundled Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, Wii MotionPlus and a Wii mote for $199.99. Although the poster came with explicit instructions not to be displayed until May 4, the excited GameStop employee couldn’t wait to share his discovery with the Interwebs.

When the Wii was first unveiled as the Revolution many fans clamored to get their hands on a sleek black, or other colored, console. Interested in a monolith-like Wii? Let us know in the comments!

Convicts being “treated” with Wii

jail

Instead of punching license plates when serving hard time, convicts at the UK’s top-security Broadmoor Hospital are being “treated” with Wii Sports and Wii Fit. With 22 newly purchased Wii consoles hooked up to plasma TVs, Broadmoor has more smiles packed in it than a Chuck E. Cheese’s. A spokesperson for Broadmoor noted that while Wii Sports and their other “Xbox and PlayStation” consoles are for treatment, Wii Fit is part of a strategy to increase exercise and improve fitness.

“When you think of their crimes and the misery they have caused, you have to ask if it’s right for society to pay to entertain them,” said the Sun‘s source. It may be labeled a hospital, but there are some characters even Ganondorf couldn’t hold a candle to. Peter Sutcliffe, also known as “The Yorkshire Ripper,” murdered 13 women in the 1980′s and is serving a life imprisonment sentence at the facility. We hear he plays a mean game of Wii Bowling. No, really. He does.
