Rock Band 2 for Wii is already in stores

Just got back from Best Buy where they had a stack of Rock Band 2 for Wii already sitting on the floor, available for purchase today (shipping date is tomorrow).  It’s the full band kit only right now, though.  They didn’t have the disc-only version available (which is what I want since I have Guitar Hero World Tour instruments already).  They were also selling extra RB2 Wii drum sets.  IGN gave the game 9.0 today, which is 0.2 better than GHWT’s score.

Anyone excited to see this out already?

Rock Band 2 Wii compatible with Guitar Hero World Tour instuments

Rock Band 2 Wii compatible with Guitar Hero World Tour instuments

IGN’s recent preview has confirmed that all Guitar Hero World Tour peripherals (guitar, drums, mic) are fully compatible with the final copy of Rock Band 2 for the Wii.

…We were also very pleased to find that peripherals for both Guitar Hero III and Guitar Hero World Tour worked with Rock Band 2…

…Red Octane’s Guitar Hero: World Tour instruments worked like a charm, save for their own peculiarities and the fact that the drum kit is different than Rock Band’s. The Guitar Hero kit has one extra orange pad, of course, so that one is ignored here. Drumming feels a little awkward on these peripherals simply because the pads are arranged differently, but once your mind has made the adjustment it won’t be a problem…

IGN goes on to confirm online play, DLC, and more. Expect to pick up Rock Band 2 for Wii on December 22.

I know I will be picking up just the disk…anyone with me?

Rock Out With Infendo contest winner announced!

This was honestly one of the coolest bunches of entries we’ve ever had.  As each entry came in, Infendo HQ was buzzing with comments about “oh, this one is clearly the winner” and they just kept getting better.

The votes are tallied, the judges were nearly split, but we have come to a consensus.  Congratulations to Justin with his video featuring a variety of bizarre rhythm instruments and his friends covering 1979 by the Smashing Pumpkins!  A winner is you!  We’re sending him a copy of Guitar Hero World Tour Deluxe Band Kit and can’t wait to see how he and his crew rock out with it!

But we can’t go away without giving an honorable mention runner-up award to Kid Pomona with Infendo Dot Rock!  This song will serve the distinct honor of being the new theme song for Infendo Radio and we’ll be sending a copy of Guitar Hero On Tour: Decades to Kid Pomona for all of his hard work.

Hit the jump for the winning video and the runner-up!
