Nintendo presents Pokemon: The Launch Experience

In my quiet little town, I moseyed over to grab a copy of Pokemon Black this morning and joined a line of Nintendo fans of all ages and backgrounds–kids, college students, parents, military–all in a great mood and all speculating about just how much cash Nintendo was raking in today.

This week, new and longtime fans are invited to experience the series’ final installment, BIT.TRIP FLUX, and join CommanderVideo for one more unforgettable ride. Black and White Sunday approaches

March 6 is one week away. For me, that means goodbye $34.95 plus tax. Yes, I’m falling for it again. I’m picking up Pokemon Black/White with the slim hope that maybe…just maybe…it’ll offer something fresh in its gameplay and plot beyond the graphics overhaul. On the other hand, it’s a no-lose situation. Even if the experience is 99% the same, I’m pretty mu...

New Game Get – Radiant Historia and De Blob 2

Radiant Historia for DS includes an incredible pedigree of developers and is released by trusty Atlus. The game features a non-linear universe in which you can travel through time, learning from the events you have already seen transpire in the game. Sounds like a fun game for fans of games like Chrono Trigger. De Blob 2 is released by THQ and is accompanied by a hefty marketing campaign, includin...

Pokémon makes me make decisions

With Pokémon Black/White coming in just a few short weeks,  I we all have some hard questions to ask ourselves. Do I go to the midnight launch?  Should I buy the strategy guide? Will I be able to catch ”˜em all? However, none of these questions are as important as the one we all must answer when we get to the front of the line at our local Gamestop: Black or White?

Did you buy Rhythm Heaven for DS? Would you support a U.S. release of the Wii sequel?

Rhythm Heaven, one of the DS’s funniest and most original games, is getting a Wii follow-up in Japan. I’ve got my fingers crossed for a North American release. U.S. sales of Rhythm Heaven didn’t reach Brain-Age level heights, despite a cute marketing campaign featuring Beyonce. How many of you out there bought this terrific Music Game/Warioware hybrid?

Five reasons I still love Nintendogs…and can’t wait for the 3DS sequel

I’m not ashamed to admit I bought my DS to play Nintendogs. When a friend showed me his polygon-pup spinning to the spoken command, “Hurricane Kick,” I realized that, yes, I did want a virtual canine after all. In fact, I bought the Lab and Friends cartridge a week before I got the system, because (remember this?) the pet-sim was selling out everywhere in its first weeks. I final...

Review: Fast-paced and fun, Kingdom Hearts Re:coded is one of 2011’s first great DS games

If you’ve never played a Kingdom Hearts game, here’s all you really need to know: Disney heroes help a boy save the universe from evil. The boy wields a keyblade to bash thousands of pop-up minions called the Heartless. You’ll find melodrama, endless backstories, and’beginning in part 2’a very bad idea called Organization Thirteen, but the soul of Kingdom Hearts is, and always ha...

With Nintendo announcing its 3DS plans this Wednesday, it’s time to start saving your pennies for the greatest Nintendo gaming system yet. Ever since news broke of the 3DS, I have been foaming at the mouth for any little rumor, spec sheet or screen shot of anything 3DS related. Here’s why:

Business Wire’Great games, great experiences and great value led Nintendo to finish 2010 with the two top-selling video game systems in the United States. The Nintendo DSâ„¢ family of systems finished in first place with more than 8.5 million sold in 2010, while the Wiiâ„¢ system topped all home consoles with more than 7 million sold, according to the NPD Group, which tracks video game industry sa...

New Game Get colon DS no Wii

Holy crap, I almost forgot to tell everyone that Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective and Kingdom Hearts Re:coded came out today! Both games have a lot of positive buzz going for them, they’re both on the DS, and they both feature fabulous colons in their titles. Over on Wii, you’ll need to hit up the Wii Shop Channel if you want any new games. Anyone check out either game? Blake seems to &l...
