According to IGN’s Matt Casamassina apparently THQ’s new and exciting Wii game Deadly Creatures is going to be delayed til sometime in February 2009.

This marks the second delay for the game, originally set for an October 31 ship date and then repositioned for a mid-December release.

Deadly Creatures was set to be a December release that was going to give us that extreme bug fighting game that was sure to be an unappreciated gem. From what we know already, Deadly Creatures has you playing as a scorpion and a tarantula, battling against other arachnids and insects. It’s promisingly dark story continues to unearth a deadly plot involving man. The game is said to push the Wii’s capabilities visually. The voice cast will include Billy Bob Thornton and Dennis Hopper, whose characters are looking for something buried in the desert.

Thornton, Hopper to voice Deadly Creatures

Thornton, Hopper to voice Deadly Creatures

THQ has proposed an interesting new games development theory; quality is equal parts gameplay, graphics and Billy Bob Thornton.

The publisher released today a new trailer on IGN for Deadly Creatures revealing actors Billy Bob Thornton and Dennis Hopper as two of the game’s primary voice actors.

The grisly new trailer showcases Thornton as he warns, “Greed can poison a man’s soul, turn him into something he ain’t, turn him into something deadly.” Two men are then shown digging in the desert, voiced by Thornton and Hopper.

An original action-thriller starring violent insects in a desolate world, Deadly Creatures is scheduled to release Dec. 22 exclusively for Wii.

The best Wii games for the fall (sorry, still no HDD)

As the leaves begin their inexorable metamorphosis from drab green to a cornucopia of reds, yellows and oranges, so too does the Wii library gain momentum and titles worth playing into the winter months and beyond.

Well, at least that’s what Nintendo and its third party developers want us to believe. Here’s what we at Infendo agree are probably going to be the best of the best for the fall.
