It seems that zombies are not the only problem that is an issue for the port of Dead Rising. According to the latest Nintendo Power it would appear there a many problems with the game, and a majority of game play elements have been changed. Chop til you Drop will now feature the following list of edits, as summarized by Kotaku.

• There are no time limits.
• Players are not restricted to a single save file.
• Main character Frank West can only carry one melee weapon at a time.
• There is more emphasis on firearms and collecting ammo.
• Frank cannot jump.
• There is no photography in the game anymore.

This game is now substantially different from the original Xbox360 game. So let me ask you guys this, Do you think this is going to be the new trend? Downgraded ports?

Dead Rising Wii-make dated, priced in Japan

Kotaku reports the Wii version of zombie-basher Dead Rising will be available Feb. 19 in Japan.

It will be priced at ¥7,340, which translates to approximately $75.

Critics have given denunciatory impressions of Dead Rising’s early Wii builds, mostly stemming from poor visuals and abhorrently low zombie totals on-screen.

Capcom built the Wii version, subtitled Chop Till You Drop, on the Resident Evil 4 engine, utilizing a similar over-the-shoulder camera view. The game utilizes motion controls for much of the combat.

Capcom announced in July it expects to sell 500,000 copies of Dead Rising on Wii. It has yet to announce a North American release.

New Dead Rising screens beat the dead horse

Famitsu has posted new screens of Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop. Reinforcing the reputation prior footage and hands-on previews have established, there is an alarming shortage of on-screen zombies.

Maybe they’re out trick-or-treating.

Capcom announced in July it expects to sell 500,000 copies of Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop. The game is set for a Q1 2009 release.
