…not only does he absolutely love video games, his whole cast dressed as video game characters on the Halloween episode of his show. Who doesn’t love a talk show host that dresses as Donkey Kong, honestly?!

Does anybody else watch Jimmy Kimmel Live? Does anybody else have a feeling that Reggie will show up on the show sometime soon, gold controller in hand to show off Skyward Sword?

Nintendo Pharmacist the coolest guy you’ll ever buy overpriced meds from

Infendo reader, good sport, and rad pharmacist Blake Shoemaker emails:

My pharmacy (in a Publix grocery store) had a fun Halloween celebration that called for the departments to decorate their sections for kids to visit, play games, and trick or treat. I thought what better theme for young and old alike than an old school Mario level? I even dressed up to play the part!

Thanks, Blake. “Pipe checkout” photo after the break. (more…)

Nintendo Halloween costume ideas, anyone?

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010 at 2:24am by Chelsea

I might be late to the party, but tonight I stumbled across the most impressive fan-made cosplay of Samus’s Varia Suit I’ve ever seen, and with Halloween right around the corner, figured it would be fun to share. Nintendo costumes are now a dime a dozen, but it’s rare to find true quality in the sea of cheap knock-offs.

This impressive homage to our favorite bounty hunter took six months to create, and was made by the prolific Yuki Lefay. The attention to detail definitely gives the previous undisputed queen of the Varia Suit, Pixelninja, a run for her money. And needless to say, her take on the Zero Suit makes my earnest effort from Halloween ’08 pale in comparison.

Looking for more jaw-dropping inspiration for your Nintendo- or videogame-themed Halloween attire? Check out more of Yuki’s impressive repertoire below:

Zero Suit Samus, Varia Suit, and “corrupted” Samus (Metroid)

Midna (Zelda: Twilight Princess)

Lara Croft (Tomb Raider)

Aya Brea (Parasite Eve)

Sephiroth (Final Fantasy VII)

Ada Wong (mercernary),  Ada Wong (evening gown) (Resident Evil 4)

Jill Valentine (Resident Evil)

Have you seen any truly stunning Nintendo Halloween costumes not listed here? Got one of your own to share? Let us know in the comments!

Want to make a FLUDD or a Propeller Helmet?

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010 at 2:01pm by Will Thompson

Brian Brinegar, one of the men behind the legendary gaming marathon, Mario Marathon, has put up a easy instructable on how to build a few gaming props. Not just any props, but Mario power ups.

Brian contacted me about a week ago to share some info on the cosplay ready FLUDD, and the awesome Propeller Helmet. Saying that “They loved the costumes, so we thought we’d do something a little special.”

For anyone who doesn’t know about Mario Marathon or the people who run it. It’s a nonstop, endurance run of playing Mario Games. Playing both night and day, nonstop, for as long as it takes to beat all the main games in the series.

Last year they raised about $29,000 dollars for Child’s Play charity. They have high hopes that they are going to top it.

Do you have any fond memories of Mario Marathon?
