You know. I don't really think that this game will ever be released this generation. It's already known that Nintendo's working on their next console and rumors are flying around that Nintendo's going to try to be the first next gen console release this time around. With the five year life cycle that would mean that Nintendo plans to release this console as early as 2010. Since we didn't get any info on Sadness at all over the past few years, ooh a screen shot. This game certainly won't make it out in 2009, unless they plan on revealing something at E for All or TGS this year, and Nintendo doesn't even plan on being at TGS this year.

This game is just like that Phantom console that was all the hype way back when, it's just vapor ware.

As much as I don't want to agree with Deepthought, I do.

And as much a nintendo fan as I am (I love the Zelda series, yes it's not as innovative as it could've been with TP, but...), they really aren't doing as well as they could've. Yeah I bought that Wii Fit game and actually still play it (Lost 8 pounds in a two week period thanks to it XD) but there are absolutely no games that appeal to me. Let's see there's that one skiing game already out that has crappy multiplayer (Only one board support and the rest are using controllers, WTF!) Then there's that Rayman Raving Rabbids 3 coming out. That game looks just as dumb as the rest of these minigame compilations. Then we also have Tony Hawk and maybe Skate It using the board but also allowing conventional controls which I bet most people will use, then we have Shaun White Snowboarding as well. They are all those crappy and boring extreme sports.

I honestly think that the only other game that could benefit from the board would be Super Monkey Ball (Get around to doing a new Super Monkey Ball for the Wii board Sega!) and any boxing game (We're all glaring at you Punch-Out!!).

Otherwise Nintendo needs to stop focusing on these toy's like Wii Music. That shouldn't be called a game because literally all you do is press buttons and that's it. There's no deep and meaningful gameplay at all. I feel sorry for the millions of moms who buy that shitty ass game for 50 bucks and realize that their kids aren't playing it and instead playing old standby's like Smash Bros and Mario Kart.

Yeah I know I went way off subject but it can't be helped. Nintendo is goofing a little too much and just starting to become a money suck with all these lame products, Why did I waste 20 bucks on a piece of plastic. Why did I spend fifty on a 40 dollar game that came with a plastic wheel? It's all to entertain the thought that I would have actually used these products in future games. But most light gun games I played actually work better without the zapper shell. and there's only one other racing game I would play with the Wii Wheel and that would be F-Zero 6 on the Wii. And don't let Sega develop it this time, how could they mess up and not have a great stage for Big Blue, heck why did I have to unlock the original tracks.

It's time for Nintendo to pick up the ball and start pushing out better first and second party titles. As it's quite clear that most third partis want to do is release these stupid minigame compilations. How many Mario Party and Wario Ware clones do we really need. According to nintendo we need a bajillion of them.

Again sorry for the rant but that's how I feel about Nintendo and their lack of 'hard core-ness' Hell go back to those days where the big N was all about being like 'punks' or whatever they did at least then they were more about the core gamers and not the soccer moms.

"I’m guessing most people here don’t share my disappointment,"
You are correct.
Here, a Nintendo fan site filled with many fanBoys ,wont really agree to much with you. even when the know how RIGHT you are.
But I most certainly agree with almost Everything you typed. And so do most non Nintendo fanBoys, or GAMERS, that you would come across.

I still have much love for Nintendo.
I love my DS. I still play a little Wii. But yeah, for people like us, and there are many , MANY of us outside this little FanBoy blog, the Wii is becoming more and more of a disappointment.
Which, really, sucks .

Back on topic, I hope this game actually sees the light of day, but in the end ,it may very well be just vaporware...

maybe Wii 2 will be better suited for our tastes.

Even IF it really IS the game, it looked dark and slow and choppy.
THAT is all they have after all this time.

Yikes. Vaporware alert.

caution: stream of consciousness rant ahead!

I really can't see myself as taken aback here. It looks like Resident Evil 1. Jerky animation. Fixed or pivoting camera.

And really, there has been a lot of hurahhing for upcoming games on the wii, but it just keeps cementing my disinterest in the console. I took a look through the 'September is the month of wii' list, and really, nothing there grabbed me. Not compared to co-op mercs2 or bia3 or spore.

For a while the 'hardcore' title really got hit by a lot of people who didn't want the wii maligned as a casual machine. (ok, didn't want to be personally maligned by association with a casual machine) But now that Nintendo basically admitted they have a casual focus with some games, the wii is truly left with games that appeal to a different/broader demographic, and less to me and my friends.

Conduit looks alright, largely because it's better than most wii efforts, but the gameplay looks on par with the original perfect dark to me. Just with a wii remote addition. And honestly, with graphics that get the job done but not too much more. We're 2+ years after Battlefield2 and I haven't seen any shooter on the wii that could interest me as much as BF2, or that looks as good.

With the N64 I felt we had a great mix of many game demographics. Gamecube did alright too, because it could compete technologically. Hell, beyond good and evil looked damn close to the xbox version, and killed the ps2 version. But Wii really can't do what 360 fps games can do. Open terrain, explosions everywhere, vehicles and friends running around, blowing up, and getting run over. I'm still waiting for that wii bioshock that we heard was going to rock. And does anyone really expect cod5 to be better on the wii than on other systems? What on earth could lead to that expectation? Worse graphics, AI, but with motion control doesn't sell me. It may sell others, but I'll believe it when I see it. Just look at wii dead rising. Does that really look like the definitive version of the game? (I know I have a fps bias, but it's my standard for comparison because I love blowing things up with my friends)

what i couldn't figure out is why the nintendo stock is still dragging. But I now realize that was the E3 effect. Unless they are underestimating the planned games sales, and I suspect many actually are, I think investors really were expecting some strong 1st party title.

But as I see it, the 1st party titles don't do it for me. I'm really sad to no longer be a huge zelda fan- I thought my love would never die after ocarina, but the series didn't evolve for twilight princess. Mario hasn't evolved much either, but hey, kickass gameplay is kickass gameplay. It's not like any of us played that for the storytelling anyways, so it can get a pass.

But where is that wiiboard game that justifies that thing? Forget sales for the moment, it's not exactly an exercise revolution that is sweeping the nation. Are all the hopes pinned on shaun white? i remember a lot of commentators asking, 'besides snowboarding, what is it good for?'. Well, tbd in 2009 I suppose. I would have suspected a greater plan for integration of the wiiboard into the overall strategy, but we're left waiting and wondering about the next punchout!! instead. As a result it looks like a cash grab designed to nail a certain demographic, and not a hardcore gamer one either (though some may be incidentally included). Kinda like the other plastic stuff they sell. The zapper really never justified itself in my mind as a consumer product, but it did as a product that could sell buckets.

And the wii finally gets an attachment that will allow 1:1 movement, which honestly is what I had originally expected. To me, this feels like a patch.

So anyways, this stuff was on or around the top of my head. Not trying to get anyone all worried about the wii. Heck, if you really want to play the blob, be my guest. But I wish I could say it spoke to me more than it does. Mostly, one friend is never letting me forget my early enthusiasm for it: 'It will revolutionize console fps gaming!' Wrongo.

I'm still happy with my DS, but, in conclusion, fear we're seeing excatly what we were told wouldn't happen: the paradigm shift away from hardcore gaming investment to more casual gaming investment. And, honestly, I'm selfish enough of a 'hardcore' gamer to not care who else plays games, as long as the focus is on my interests. Cause the game industry I love never needed to be saved. This audience expansion didn't stop some impending doom. It really looks like it just distracted a major console maker. And now MS, being the professional imitator it is, will probably follow Nintendo's lead next generation like a lost puppy. And THAT, more than anything, really will get to me. At least I'll still have my PC.

(I'm guessing most people here don't share my disappointment, and I have no need to tell them their taste in games is wrong or that they are fooling themselves into liking superficial aspects of games- to those who disagree with my taste, I guess we're just different. And E3 screwed the stock price. Mostly, it just felt good to type this, cause I really haven't been feeling the game hype that seems to be on this site lately)

tough call. I want to believe that somebody just told them to keep quiet for their own good, and that good games take time.

The only problem is that they have promised to be at certain events this year, LGC included, yet havent shown up nor given satisfactory reasons why they didnt show up.

If they were at liepzig i sure havent heard of their presence yet outside of this non-direct-feed 30 second shaky cam footage where nothing worth anything can be seen.

I love to support and have patience for indie devs, but they are even trying my patience right now.

I hope if they are vaprware we at least dont hear of them again til the next big events next year (I doubt they would worry about E for All, could be wrong there)

The only problem is that they have promised to be at certain events this year, LGC included, yet havent shown up nor given satisfactory reasons why they didnt show up.

You know what, im actually starting to believe the game exists. Considering that that is a real dev kit ontop of the tv, I doubt any other developer would waste time to create a mock-up.
