Super Mario RPG to Japanese VC

It seems that the Japanese Virtual Console is getting another classic game before we do. Does that mean there is a chance for this to be released here any time soon? What many people don’t know is that Super Mario RPG has a dark history, and it all has to do with Square. Since Nintendo licensed the game to Square to develop, Square actually wrote up the story and owns a majority of the rights. Mostly the characters, story, and music in the game that have nothing to do with the Mario franchise. However, since it is seeing a release on the VC in Japan, it looks like Nintendo and Square might have finally come to a deal. Here’s hoping that we might actually see the title on our shores sometime soon.

This is the SECOND SE (Squaresoft) title to come out on VC. SECOND. How come nobody noticed that before?

I’m glad to FINALLY see Super Mario RPG: Legend Of The Seven Stars coming to VC. Even if Japan gets it before we do here in the US, it doesn’t bother me. I’m just happy to see that SQUARE didn’t forget about TRULY in my book, such a great 5 STAR game made in the History of Mario. Especially seeing as how it was the 1st EVER Mario RPG game to continue on down the line with other good Mario RPGS today like Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi. Now, if only we can get our hands on Chrono Trigger next.

No thanks, but I would like some Chrono Trigger though.

I didn’t want to play the N64 Mario RPG because I missed the boat on this one. If this comes stateside I might have the opportunity to get into the franchise.

They must release it on VC in Europe because the damn fools (Nintendo and Square) didn’t release it for SNES here in Europe!!
Damn it made us angry! They also failed to release Chrono Trigger, Earthbound and Final Fantasy 6 for example.

Dude, I’m so sorry, that’s terrible. I wouldn’t even wish that on my enemies.
