Super Mario RPG released on Europe/Australia VC

Multiple Wii owners in Europe and Australia have confirmed Friday’s VC update which includes one of the most underrated SNES role-playing-games…Super Mario RPG! Expect the classic to hit the United States possibly Monday, or soon after.
Have any of our Euro/Aussie readers downloaded this yet? If so, how is it?

DUDE! How’d they get it through the legal red tape? And more importantly, would they be able to do the same here?

Red tape? Is there a reason why this game hasn’t been released yet? I wasn’t aware of any.

I am an Australian and I must say it has been 12 long years. I remember back in 95/96 when Nintendo Magazine System (AUS’ Nintendo Power) ran an RPG special with this game on the cover and now, finally we get it.
I hope Terranigma never gets released in the States.

That’s really mean thing to say about Terranigma, that’s one of the best SNES games out there. You guys shouldn’t be hoarding it!
Seeing how it’s been released in Japan, and know the Europe area, it seems more than likely that we will see the game come out in the states sometime soon.

Who says Europe never gets the good stuff first?
This game is why I bought the classic controller in the first place. How long has it been since the ESRB went up on this one?

i dont like RPG’s, and I remember getting it for my birthday right when it came out, I opened the box and played it for like ten minutes and then told my mom I did not want it anymore, a couple hissy fits later I finally grew to love this game and other than Final Fantasy X & X-2 its the only RPG i have ever made it past the first hour without getting bored, at that the only rpg I ever beat.

It’s about damn time! They should’ve released this game years ago! Stupid Nintendo and Square never released games such as EarthBound, Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 6 in Europe.
I bought Super Mario RPG from a guy that had imported it. I regret that I sold it. I bought it again quite recently but it has a security chip that prevents the game from being played in a PAL-SNES. It would be too expensive to modify it. Long story short, I’m thinking of buying it for VC (would be my first purchase online with my Wii) only to show Nintendo and Square that it was wrong of them not releasing Super Mario RPG (and the other wonderful RPG’s) here in Sweden (Europe) in the first place! I think that Super Mario RPG for SNES is the best in the series!
